with Special Agent Jordan Lambert, the woman he once loved. When yet another girl dies--number six--Garrett blames himself and believes he doesn't have what it takes to be an agent. What he'll discover is that, while he may be done with the killer, the killer is not done with him--or Jordan. Reviewer: Jill Jones If you are familiar with Lisa Harris' Nikki Boyd Files (series), you will enjoy Vanishing Point, the back story of how Nikki gave up her career as a teacher and began a career in law enforcement after the abduction of her sister, Sarah. The Nikki Boyd Files refer many times to the story of Sarah's abduction by the Angel Abductor and how it affected Nikki. Vanishing Point tells the story of Garrett Addison and Jordan Lambert who are tasked with the mission of finding six girls who have gone missing and presumed abducted by the Angel Abductor, including Sarah Boyd. Through several decades, the pair team up to look for clues leading them to the abductor and stop the abductions. After 20 years, with Nikki's help, they make some headway into the case that has kept them baffled for years. But will they be able to catch the abductor before the abductor catches them? I was thrilled to read Nikki's back story even though she was not a major player in the book. Lisa Harris' books always thrill and the suspense is mesmerizing. The Nashville, Tennessee region is experiencing the horror of what appears to the work of a serial killer and Garrett Addison's first week on the criminal investigative team of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has just gotten a lot more complicated. When the F. B. I. arrives onto the scene to assist, Garrett is reunited with the lovely agent that he could never forget, not even during the years that have separated them. Special Agent Jordan Lambert, the one that he let get away. F. B. I. Special Agent Jordan Lambert is incensed that the "Angel Abductor" has managed to evade law enforcement once again. Working furiously to follow every possible lead, she and Garrett rekindle the easy camaraderie that they often enjoyed before her career path took her to Virginia, and he never came after her. But now is not the time to cry over spilled milk, because a cold blooded killer continues to meticulously abduct young girls without leaving a trace. Rarely, if ever, does an author write a prequel to a very popular series of stories, but that is just what Lisa Harris has done, and for the most part has done well. Bringing eventual closure to a very complicated case that spanned over a decade, she allows her readers to tirelessly pursue loose ends and enjoy the satisfaction of a job well done; along the way, reminding us all that God doesn't promise to eliminate the evils of this world, but to accompany us through them.
