The Winter Rose

Picture
Author: Melanie Dobson
Genre: Historical Romance
Release Date: January 11, 2022

In this gripping WWII time-slip novel from the author whose books have been called “propulsive” and a “must-read” (Publishers Weekly), Grace Tonquin is an American Quaker who works tirelessly in Vichy France to rescue Jewish children from the Nazis. After crossing the treacherous Pyrénées, Grace returns home to Oregon with a brother and sister whose parents were lost during the war. Though Grace and her husband love Élias and Marguerite as their own, echoes of Grace’s past and trauma from the Holocaust tear the Tonquin family apart.

More than fifty years after they disappear, Addie Hoult arrives at Tonquin Lake, hoping to find the Tonquin family. For Addie, the mystery is a matter of life and death for her beloved mentor Charlie, who is battling a genetic disease. Though Charlie refuses to discuss his ties to the elusive Tonquins, finding them is the only way to save his life and mend the wounds from his broken past.

Love or Sacrifice

Picture
Author: Delilah Godfrey
Genre: Historical Romance
Release Date: November 20, 2021

From a charming village on the French coast, a young man, Hugues, is corresponding with his buddy, documenting the wonders of this area, which lies snuggled between the shoreline and a majestic falling cliff. Hugues's sensitive and idealistic personality is evident by his response to this area, and his attention is quickly awakened by its historic chateau, occupied by a reclusive and misanthropic Marquis. As the narrative progresses, Hugues is put into the company of a beautiful, enigmatic young girl after meeting her in the woods surrounding the chateau, and his interest is instantly sparked as to her identity, a curiosity which is heightened when he discovers her name is Meriele and she is the only child of the mysterious Marquis de Montastruc. It is at this time that we realise Hugues is also an aristocrat, the son of the late Comte de Romanet, and, as such, a fitting match for Meriele. Nothing, not even the ominous intimations of Meriele's faithful but withered nurse, Georgette, will deter Hugues from his path to seek the Marquis' blessing on their union. But even these cryptic warnings do not prepare Hugues for the anger he experiences at his first meeting with Montastruc.

Spouse in the House

Picture
Author: Cynthia Ruchti/Becky Melby
Genre: Christian Living/Marriage

A frank and funny look at what to do when together is too close

Two's company, especially for those who love each other. So what happens when--due to retirement, working from home, or even running a business together--spouses find that being in the same space all the time is awkward, complex, annoying, and just plain challenging? How can partners co-exist without co-exhausting each other?

Cynthia Ruchti and Becky Melby know all too well how adjusting to a new, all-the-time closeness can cause the bliss of marriage to form blisters. Drawing from their experiences, and from men and women across the country in the same situation, the authors take a deep breath and dive into the root causes of the discomfort. They dig into the ways God's Word addresses the topic, and they offer practical tips for learning the spiritual, emotional, relational, and even physical steps that can help readers replace irritation with peace.

For any Christian who wants their home to be a refuge of peace and serenity for all--not just themselves--and who wants to know they aren't alone in the mental and physical claustrophobia of too much togetherness, Spouse in the House is a vulnerable, charming, and pragmatic breath of hope.

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Series: Roseville Romances #1
Release Date: November 5, 2021

Can a struggling career woman and a procrastinating artist save a beloved non-profit?

Aspiring novelist Caroline Penn expected a promotion, not a picture book assignment. But when her employer, the non-profit Helping Hope, runs into financial trouble, this book might be the solution. With the company struggling to stay afloat, she and the illustrator will need to collaborate on a strict deadline—no problem for a workaholic like Caroline, right?

Andy Jackson, a “starving” artist, pays the bills by taking on graphic design gigs, but his perfectionism gets in the way. If only he could focus on a project for once, perhaps he could achieve his dream to make art for children for a living.

When the two are thrust together to create a book, Caroline can’t seem to write for children, and Andy can’t meet a deadline to save his life. As time ticks down to release day, the two must face their pasts and insecurities. If they can avoid strangling one another for long enough, they may just bring to the table what the other is missing.

If not, the fate of their careers—and a beloved non-profit—hangs in the balance.

Promise Me Aloha

Picture
Author: Taylor Bennett
Genre: Young Adult
Series: Tradewinds #5
Release Date: October 5, 2021

How can two people come together when everything else is falling apart?

Olive Galloway always knew that Brander Delacroix wasn't going to date until he found the girl he wanted to marry, and she's still marveling over the fact that he decided to date her. But he did, which means it isn't much of a surprise when he drops down on one knee in the sand the year after Olive graduates from college. What does come as a surprise is the sudden realization that she'll no longer be Olive Galloway living at home with Grams and Macie. She'll be Olive Delacroix, building a new life in Hawaii with one of her very best friends.

With that understanding, however, comes a tidal wave of pressure. Between bothersome dealings with soon-to-be in-laws, a mountain of over-the-top wedding preparations, and a trio of explosive family secrets, Olive begins to wonder if she'll be able to make it down the aisle with all of her hair intact. She's thankful for Jazz, her best friend, who is ready and willing to support her through it all, but she can't help wondering why Jazz hasn't found a happily ever after of her own.

As the wedding day draws near and one final devastating secret comes to light, Olive's perfect world comes dangerously close to spinning off its axis. It will take plenty of faith and prayer (and no small amount of shave ice) to set things right before the wedding bells begin to ring and she promises Brander her aloha...forever.
