have nothing but the tattered clothes on their backs and a load of hurt, pride, and anger. Believing this is divine intervention in her life, Grace welcomes them with open arms. As feelings grow between her and Robert, Grace will have to convince him that she is a woman who can be trusted with his heart. Get swept away into Montana's lush Gallatin Valley, nestled among towering mountains and proud pines, in this emotional story. ![]() Reviewer: Carol A. Brown Set in the Gallatin Valley, Montana Territory in the latter half of the 1800s, Trusting Grace is a heart-warming story of the battle to trust when trust has been broken or disappointed; and the battle to open one’s heart to love again after loss. I very much appreciated the Christian values and the emphasis on family in this novel. Grace Bidwell was suddenly widowed, with an ailing father and a farm to run—all by herself! Robert Frasier was suddenly widowed and shortly thereafter became the recipient of three children that said wife had neglected to tell him about. Both had baggage and so did the children! Maggie Brendan does a masterful job of weaving together the multilevel areas of the lives of her characters where mistrust held sway. Maggie’s characters are “real”. We all know people like the ones you meet in these pages—tender and compassionate, optimistic, flat-footed, hard working and honest, loving, arrogant and greedy, angry, salt of the earth...we know these people! And her plot keeps moving right along, with unexpected bumps in the road just like real life. Her sense of timing for when to introduce a complication, and when to resolve it, is spot on. Lovers of western romance are going to love this book. Yes, I would recommend it. You can miss out on a friendship, a helping hand, or valuable information. Very enjoyable novel. While there were two main characters, several characters experienced grace and learned to build trusting relationships. Down-to-earth, flowing, and easy to get lost in this historical western novel.
