This historical fiction romance hooks readers into Lily's life, full of hard choices, tender love for her son, strange and new places, hidden past, and hope for a better future. As in life, it's difficult to trust people after bad experiences, so it is for Lily.

Set in the year 1836 this book could be a story about modern times. It is realistic with sympathetic characters. I barely put down the book, enjoy reading it!
