"Only through weakness can true strength be realized."

Joshua Messias is a brilliant young man, probably borderline genius. Once he graduates high school at 16, he discovers some amazing secrets about himself and his mentor, Mr. Seldon Makure. Soon, Josh finds himself in a race to save the future of humankind. Along with the beautiful girl of his dreams, Rachel, Josh has to decide what is the right thing to do. "Just because it can be done, does that mean it should be done?"

This was an engaging book, full of hard science and futuristic technology. It was well-written, but I could have done without all of the exclamation points scattered throughout the book. In my opinion, this gave it a very middle-grade feel. Otherwise, it is well-written and draws a true science fiction reader into the story. Even with all of the technical descriptions, it was an easy read. I think it would appeal to readers of all ages and education levels. The story is told from a spiritual viewpoint, but there is no mention of a higher deity or Bible teachings.

I am well beyond the target group for a YA book, but I did enjoy the old-style sci-fi feel of the book. It does end on a cliffhanger, and I would be interested in reading the sequel to see what happens next.

I received a copy courtesy of the author through Interviews & Reviews for my honest opinion.
