A Hollywood hair stylist.

Nevaeh Richards loves making those in the spotlight shine but prefers the anonymity of staying behind her stylist chair, where no one notices her. But when a photo of Nevaeh and Hollywood A-lister Lamont Booker goes viral for all the wrong reasons, her quiet life becomes the number-one trending topic.

The silver screen's latest heartthrob.

Lamont Booker's bold faith has gained him a platform, and the authenticity of his faith is well known . . . until the tabloids cause the world to question everything he claims to be. With his reputation on the line, he finds himself hearing out his agent's push for a fake relationship--something he never thought he'd consider in a million years.

A love that goes off script.

With their careers at risk, Nevaeh and Lamont have to convince the world that their scripted romance is more than just an act. But when fake seems to turn into something real, can Nevaeh trust her heart in a world where nothing is ever as it seems?

This book was an auto-yes from the beginning. Fake relationships of any kind are a must for me. Seeing the transition of the characters from faking the relationship to falling for each other has me turning the pages to find out more. This was one of those books for me.

There were a lot of faith-based topics. I personally like it when the characters themselves are Christians, not just the author, and in The Love Script, that is the case for these amazing characters. They take their faith seriously and even hate that they have to tell a lie. So that lie is remedied by making it true.

Lamont Booker was such a swoon-worthy character. Toni Shiloh outdid herself with him. To be fair, this is my first book by her, but she is by far one of the best authors who has created an amazing guy character. And his friends! I can’t wait for the next book!

I received this book from Bethany House Publishers through Interviews & Reviews. I was not required to give a favorable review.

The Love Script by Toni Shiloh is a mesmerizing contemporary Christian romance that weaves a captivating tale of love, faith, and unexpected connections. Nevaeh Richards, the Hollywood hair stylist who thrives in the shadows, and Lamont Booker, the silver screen heartthrob with an unshakeable faith, take readers on an exhilarating journey that defies expectations.

Toni Shiloh's masterful storytelling shines as she expertly navigates the complexities of Nevaeh and Lamont's lives. The way Nevaeh's quiet existence collides with the chaos of fame is beautifully depicted, pulling readers into her world of anonymity and then thrusting them onto the grand stage of Hollywood. Lamont's unwavering faith, juxtaposed with the challenges to his authenticity, adds a layer of depth to his character that resonates powerfully.

As the sparks of a fake relationship fly, Shiloh skillfully crafts a love story that blooms against all odds. Nevaeh and Lamont's scripted romance, which initially aims to salvage their reputations, takes on a life of its own, leaving readers captivated by the emotional rollercoaster of their journey. The chemistry between the characters is palpable, and their evolving connection is a testament to the author's ability to create genuine and relatable relationships.

With a backdrop of glamour and glitz, The Love Script also delves into profound themes of trust and authenticity. Shiloh's portrayal of Nevaeh's inner struggles and Lamont's battle with his public image adds a layer of realism that tugs at the heartstrings. Readers will find themselves rooting for these characters as they grapple with the challenges of a world where appearances often overshadow the truth.

Toni Shiloh's vivid descriptions bring the setting to life, from the lush landscapes of Southern California to the opulent Hollywood lifestyle. The prose effortlessly transports readers into Nevaeh's world, allowing them to experience her joys, fears, and triumphs alongside her.

In The Love Script Toni Shiloh has penned a masterpiece of contemporary Christian romance that will leave readers enchanted and uplifted. The heartfelt journey of Nevaeh and Lamont serves as a poignant reminder that love and faith can bloom in unexpected places and that true authenticity shines even in the brightest spotlight. This book is a must-read for anyone seeking a soul-stirring tale of love, hope, and the power of staying true to oneself.

Well worthy of five stars.

Even though Nevaeh Richards likes to bring out the natural beauty in celebrities, she prefers the privacy of hiding in the shadows of her stylist's chair. But when a photo of Nevaeh with Hollywood movie star Lamont Booker goes viral, her peaceful life gets crazy.

Nevaeh and Lamont agree this photo of them together looks like Lamont has compromised his Christian virtues, which will tarnish his marketability, so a plan is devised to save his reputation and career.

The publicist tells them to act quickly, and they agree to dates for appearances only. When Nevaeh is thrown into a world of glitz and glamor, her world is completely turned upside down. Her privacy is invaded, her faith is questioned, and her curves are scrutinized.

A fictitious dating arrangement quickly develops into something more. Lamont ponders if he should trust God with everything, from his mother's illness to whether he should live for his career or for God.

The author shows that celebrities are real people doing their best in navigating a media-crazy world. The themes that naturally flow through the novel are reality vs. perception, letting God defend you or devising your own plans, and what is faith? Was it possible to save intimacy for marriage?

I like how the author described this series: "Real to life characters who are thrust into the spotlight. In the world of internet famous, these books will show how hard it is to navigate fame, faith, and love."

This is the first novel I’ve read by this author; it won’t be the last. I enjoyed this story and its characters. It was a fun, humorous, and thought-provoking adventure that I adored. I look forward to reading the second installment of this Love in the Spotlight series. This is a great escape and one that would work for a book club pick.

Toni Shiloh has done it again! In her previous series, In Search of a Prince, the author took us on a delightful journey to an island kingdom off the coast of Africa with royalty, government intrigue, and sweet romance. In this new series, we get immersed in Hollywood - with glamour, paparazzi, heartache, life-changing faith, and slow, tender romance.

Nevaeh's first-person voice is refreshingly honest, compassionate, innocent, and easy to love. Lamont's third-person voice is humble, thoughtful, and loyal - he's definitely a swoon-worthy hero. Their crazy fake dating scheme seemed a little over-the-top and fairytale-like, but how their relationship developed felt real and believable. Their struggle as believers with something the world may regard trivial hit home - we are called to be holy because He is holy. I also loved Lamont's friendship with believing brothers Chris and Tuck, and I hope the series will bring them to the spotlight.

Filled with memorable characters, fun and witty banter, and great life and faith lessons, this newest offering by Toni Shiloh will be the perfect beach read.

Wow, wow, wow! This book is EXCELLENT! It should be made into a movie- it's that good! The characters are wonderful. Neveah is so down to earth. I love everything about her. Lamont is swoon-worthy. A man who is not afraid to live out his faith.

The love story is sweet and romantic. It's not your typical love story. It's so much more. I loved the faith aspect that Toni weaves into all of her books. It's refreshing and revitalizing. A definite must-read!

I thought this was another cute and fun read! I'll have to go back and read her other books now.

I just loved the characters in this story. Neveah took me a minute to figure out that her name was Heaven, spelled backward. Beautiful name. I finished this book in a day because I loved the banter between Lamont and Neveah. I even laughed at some of it. In my opinion, their banter was what made this a fun read.

But my favorite character was Ms. Rosie. Her wisdom meant a lot to me. As I'm sure, it did to this wonderful couple that I enjoyed getting to know.

Another reason I enjoyed this book so much was the faith-filled themes scattered throughout the sweet novel, and my 2nd favorite is the friends-to-lovers theme. To me, those make the best kinds of marriages, and if it's God's will, He'll make it happen!

Here's a favorite quote from this story. Lamont is telling Alyssa that he doesn't want to go back to the place he was. The path where he used people, and they used people, and it was all a mess that had him checking into a "retreat " to find himself. Fortunately, he found God. Then he told her it was not as black and white as that. "It's more like I was in such a state that once God opened my eyes to Him, I couldn't help but choose the things that would only glorify Him. It's no longer about me." How true.

I'm sad that this sweet novel ended so soon because I couldn't put it down until it was finished. I felt like it was too short, but in reality, it really wasn't. Five stars for a job well done. My heart is full and satisfied! I'll be thinking about these characters for a long time to come.

I received a complimentary copy courtesy of Bethany House through Interviews & Reviews for my honest opinion.
