Reviewer: Carol A. Brown Wonderful read. Land Lord is the probable possible—a story of intrigue, double agents, sacrifice, and heroism cast against evil agendas and revenge! The story opens with scenes from the nightmare of China’s Cultural Revolution circa 1948. Fast forward to the present and the story could have been inspired by current events! Colwell has woven together a fast paced, edge of the seat scenario that could literally be our reality the way current events are going. I very much enjoyed this novel; you could see it actually happening. The story is the plotted takeover of the U.S. by a foreign power through infiltration of positions of power. The reader gradually learns the motives of the antagonist as the story progresses. The main characters are Lian Cheng, professor a dancer who survived Mao’s China and “Ryder” a former special operations soldier who served under the general who had become the POTUS. Beautifully crafted and almost technically flawless. Well timed and well paced and filled with the unexpected and a dash of romance. I would highly recommend this book, especially to those who like to keep abreast of current events. Leave a Reply. |
