Faith Content - Faith is subtly woven through the novel in an encouraging and realistic way. 

The Glass Bottom Boat by Laura Thomas is a must read for anyone who enjoys mystery, romance and family loyalties. The importance of serving our Lord and how He watches over us is woven so beautifully through the pages. It is a wonderful reminder that God is always and will always watch over us no matter what circumstances we encounter. When we stay faithful and true, God will always see us through! With God by our side we will overcome... survive and thrive in our life with Him.  

Laura also reminds us how important it is continue to keep praying for and encouraging our loved ones because our words and actions can either be influential or detrimental in bringing others to Christ.

If you’re looking for a beach book to read without actually getting sand in your flip-flops, The Glass Bottom Boat, by Laura Thomas, is a good, quick read to add to your kindle.

Jamaica is the setting for the destination wedding of Madison’s sister Chloe Grey. The wedding party includes the bridegroom-to-be, Nathan Alexander, and his brother Luke, a missionary in Mexico.

Almost immediately Madison senses that someone is watching her, but she does not want to upset Chloe or the wedding plans. When she catches a glimpse of a man who might be her stalker, Nathan is the one who becomes nervous.

Madison thinks, “At a resort full of people, how much danger could she be in?”

Later, in a private conversation, Madison confides in Luke some of her past struggles—her near-drowning as a teenager, the death of her parents, her broken engagement. Although Luke has made the commitment to remain single, he is drawn to Madison and prays for her.

The suspense builds. Madison is kidnapped, and Nathan and Chloe receive a ransom note. Who would kidnap Madison? Where is she? How can they find her without involving the police?

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” is a verse that helps Madison get through her ordeal.

I loved the characters of Madison and Luke, and especially their faith and trust in God.

​I don’t want to spoil the plot, but there is a happy ending for this novel classified as both suspense thriller and romance.
