A fictional political thriller exploring some of the geopolitical and technological questions in our world today, such as: What are the most dangerous regimes out there? Is bitcoin here to stay?

I wanted to like this book.  The cover drew me in and the fact that 'Canadian' was in the title was great as well because I'm Canadian and I feel that my country doesn't get enough representation.  However, The Canadian Agent fell far short of my expectations.

WHAT I LIKED:

• This book was set in Canada and I recognized several place names, which was nice.
• This book had potential to be a great series, but...

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE:

• The author tried to cram way too much into a relatively short book.  The plot made my head spin trying to keep all the character, points-of-view, and subplots straight.
  

• The characters weren't my cup of tea.  There wasn't much depth to them and there were also too many of them.  I feel that if the author had stuck to two or three major characters, I would have been more connected to the story.
  

• The writing style was not the best.
  

• The ending left me confused.  I honestly wonder if I received an incomplete copy because it ended so abruptly and without any resolution...or a cliffhanger.

Overall, I cannot recommend this book even though I want to.
