The Big Red Chair is an entertaining yet heartfelt book. While it was written for grieving children people of all ages will enjoy its message
My grandchildren found it a great help when they lost their grandpa. I think you will to.

So Afi went to live with God His body healed, no longer flawed.
This story succeeds as a tribute to a loving and well-loved grandfather and the God he served. It is also an inspiration to families to honour their loved ones as they get older, and I find the author’s use of actual family photos particularly appropriate here.
Questions at the back of the book invite discussion, and a made-for-children gospel presentation and suggested prayer invite children to begin their own faith journeys. There are, however, some rough patches in the story—places where forced rhyme and uneven rhythm slow the reader down.
