Author: Susan May Warren Genre: Contemporary Romance Life and love hang in the balance during a deadly summer of storms. A tornado has destroyed a small Minnesota community, and among the missing are not only a group of students but also PEAK Rescue team leader Chet King. Ty Remington will stop at nothing to rescue his mentor, not even when the girl he loved--and lost--walks back into his life. But Brette needs his help more than he knows, despite her stubborn determination to push him away. And when he gets a second chance, loving her just might cost him more than he can imagine. A blogger for Vortex Storm Chasers, Brette Arnold didn't expect her adventures to land her in the same place as Ty, the guy who she walked--no, ran--from over a year ago. She had her reasons--good ones. The kind that tell her that falling for him again would only lead to heartache. But Ty isn't the kind of man to give up--not on the missing students or on her. Reviewer: Gee Dixon This story is full of action, adventure, and inspirational for all the readers. This is Book 5 in the Montana Rescue Series. I have not read the first 4 in the series and still was drawn into the story in Book 5 and now look forward to reading them all including Book 6. The author keeps you drawn in. I was wanted to turn the next page to see what was next. It full of exciting action, trusting and having faith in others even when there was ones not having faith in God to pull them through. With several story-lines unraveling at once—I'll admit, it was a lot to take on at first! There are more characters than I would have deemed comfortable in the first chapter or so, and it was tricky to keep them all straight. (Fifth book issues!) But once I sank into the fast pace of the action, it was a wonderful read. The strong, believable characters of Ty and Brette led the way through the destruction caused by a storm, and the rescue missions are described vividly and with great detail. The love story between them is sweet but takes some meaty issues on board. Storms both literal and emotional abound—I found it to be an enjoyable page-turner. I would definitely recommend reading previous books in the series, but it is just about doable as a stand-alone! Book provided courtesy of Baker Publishing. Reviewer: Becky Hrivnak Storm Front, by Susan May Warren, is book 5 of the Montana Rescue series...and my most favorite of the series (until the next one comes out, no doubt!). Wow, what can I say...I was on the edge of my seat for this one! Storm chasers! Yeah, who would, who could, who'd want to?! Brette! What a sweetie! She has gone through so much and finally doesn't care if she's chasing a storm, in the storm, or coming out of the storm...but truly she does care and the hurt is deep from all the storms in her life. In walks Ty...He's the ever-present hero who doesn't know he's a hero! Storm Front brought on all the emotions! Sadness for the pain, anxiety in the midst of the storms, heartbreak for the other issues that come along the way, but the best parts...the romance and hope that is throughout the entire book! Storm Front is one of those "conflict on every page" kind of novels that kept me reading until the book was finished. Wonderful characters, many brought forward from earlier in the series, make it feel like I was invited to join one big family. The setting, a devastating tornado and its aftermath, searching for missing people, and trying to hold onto rocky love affairs, all make for great tension that won't let go. Had to take a big breath after the last page. This is a delightful romantic suspense story filled with Christian wisdom and grace. I received an advance copy from the publisher. My review reflects my honest opinion. I give this 5 stars. Book provided courtesy of Baker Publishing. Leave a Reply. |
