I like the author’s Moxy in creating a strong female protagonist who speaks up freely for her values and opinions. It was refreshing instead of allowing Eve to be muted by the political bullying that strives to discredit any opinions other than their own. 

I enjoyed this book and thought it was smart to have Eve Reilly be a radio talk host. That made her an obvious target for a variety of other characters with fear and agendas. As a result, suspicion was cast over several possibilities for the villain. Eve’s soon-to-be love interest, Detective Brent Lange, has his hands full trying to protect Eve from her own strong will. It creates a great guessing game for the reader.

I recommend this well-written romantic suspense.

In Point of Danger, Eve Reilly is a conservative talk radio host with enemies. Brent Lange is a newly minted detective. Both are Christians with their faith the center of their lives. They meet over a bomb on Eve’s porch.

Threats come one after the other against Eve, but she will not hide. Brent admires her courage and everything else about her. This book builds suspense throughout and will keep you turning pages to find out who is behind the threats and what happens with Brent and Eve.

Eve Reilly is a woman who speaks her mind and a lot of people don't like that. Especially since her radio show is very popular. Unfortunately, fiction sometimes mirrors real life and Eve's life is in now in danger because someone doesn't like her beliefs.

Police detective Brent Lange gets assigned to her job and is trying very hard to get to the bottom of these threats against Eve. What I liked about this story, and that may very well be why it is called the Triple Threat series, is there are about three scenarios this could go. Each underlying threat seems valid and so I was kept guessing pretty much till the end. 

We get a great panoramic view from some of the other characters points of views. Even the suspects. Of which some seemed obvious while others were more hidden. This put me in mind of the movie Bodyguard for some reason and it was a pretty intense read. Especially when like Eve, the reader was kept guessing and looking around every fictional corner as well.

Irene Hannon is one of the most versatile authors I’ve ever read. She can write sweet romantic stories about a seaside community. I love to visit Hope Harbor as often as I can. With ease, she can switch to suspenseful stories that keep you on the edge of your seat.

Her latest series, Triple Threat, begins with Point of Danger, a story about a controversial radio commentator whose show often ruffles feathers and garners hate mail. When Eve Reilly receives a bomb in a package on her doorstep, her angry listeners become suspects, but is there more to it than that? Tall, dark and handsome police detective Brent Lange comes to her aid to help find the person or persons responsible while trying to keep his personal feelings about Eve on the down low, but as the days pass, he finds it more and more difficult to do so.

Point of Danger is one of the most exciting books Hannon has written. Right to the end, Hannon entertains us with romance and suspense.

Eve Reilly has strong convictions. She doesn't care to share them with others, so her job as a morning talk show host seems perfect until someone decides that her opinions should be silenced. Point of Danger takes readers on an exciting ride filled with twists and turns, but it also focuses on the relationship that develops between Eve and her police detective protector Brent Longe. Their chemistry is immediate and continues to grow but are they willing to take a chance when they are both involved in high-risk jobs? 

Author Irene Hannon knows how to draw readers in, allow them to form their conclusions, and then completely blow their theories out of the water! This is an enjoyable first book in her new Triple Threat series, and I look forward to reading what is ahead for Eve's sister Cate.

I recommend Point of Danger to all who enjoy romantic suspense, and I give it four stars!

This book was definitely interesting and kept me turning pages.

The story starts out with Eve receiving what she believes to be a bomb delivered to her doorstep. Though it is later determined to be fake, she continues to receive threats. An on-air phone call from someone offering information about her past, and threatening notes telling her to stop her show, are among the messages she begins receiving. Brent Lange, a detective working her case, quickly becomes drawn in by Eve and his concern for her.

Yes, you guessed it, they quickly realize they are attracted to each other, and a sweet story ensues, though complicated.

While this book didn’t feel overly suspenseful, I did find it difficult to put down. And though the ending felt somewhat predictable, there were a few surprises. One that will feel believable to some, and others might highly question.

The character development worked for me, they felt real, and their actions were believable for the most part.

At this point (no pun intended), I’m excited to continue with the series.

My Concerns

With the country in such political unrest, I feel the topic of Eve’s moral, conservative talk-show stand might come across as more of the tale too many. However, I did find it interesting regardless of beliefs.

What I Liked

This felt like several stories in one with multiple suspects. And these suspects were all people with believable character traits.

This book had everything I want to see in a romantic suspense novel.There was plenty of action and the pool of suspects was large enough to keep me guessing. There were just enough clues to make me think I had the culprit figured out, and then maybe I didn’t.

The main characters were both relatable people with plenty of chemistry, who had me invested in their lives and in the outcome of their story. They were both well written and believable as were the side characters.

I loved the thread of family, friendship, and faith that was woven into the story, and I’m already looking forward to the next book in the series.

I always enjoy an Irene Hannon book. Her suspense books take me back to St Louis, where I lived for twenty years. This one is the start of a new series about three sisters called Triple Threat. Eve Reilly is featured in Point of Danger.

Eve has firm convictions and voices them on her morning talk radio program. I appreciate the way Ms. Hannon has Eve articulate her conservative viewpoints. Very clear and well reasoned out.

The story follows threats to Eve and the attempt to uncover the person behind the harassment. Because of her case, she meets detective Brent Lange, and they both realize that attraction is building. But with each having high profile jobs with a risk factor, do they go forward or take a step back? Eve and Brent have deeply held convictions and take their faith seriously.

The fun part of reading this story is trying to figure out who the bad guys are. Ms. Hannon keeps you guessing and the pages turning. The crowd and demonstration scenes were very realistic and scary. You could feel the tension. I liked the dynamics between Eve and her sisters, Cate and Grace, and look forward to reading their stories in this series.

This was a great start to a new series. Keep them coming!
