Reviewer: Erin Stevenson When I agreed to read and review this book, I was aware that it was the final book in a 3-book series, and I had not read the other two. The author strongly recommended that I do that and kindly sent me both files. I’m so glad she did! Sometimes when you read a book in a series without having read the earlier ones, it’s OK. It basically stands alone, and with a little effort, the reader can fill in the blanks. Not so in this instance. The three books are really one long story split into three volumes. I would have been completely lost if I hadn’t read them in order. I haven’t enjoyed a story more in a very long time. It’s so well written and doesn’t follow the usual romance formula, which I found refreshing. All three books are written from the heroine’s POV, in present tense--which was also unusual and took a little getting used to. But soon, I was so drawn into the story and forgot everything about the mechanics. The spiritual emphasis was strong and well presented. I appreciated that the heroine wasn’t a “perfect” Christian and experienced growth in her faith walk throughout the journey. There were twists and turns along the way, and the ending was highly satisfying. I read very late into the night to finish it because I couldn’t bear to put it down. It was also an opportunity to learn something about adoption in China. The author’s experience of living there also lent authenticity to the cultural elements in the books. I’m sorry that I can’t give it more than 5 stars! Highly recommend. The author provided me a copy of this novel through Interviews and Reviews. I was not required to post a positive review, and all views and opinions are my own. Reviewer: Nikita Wells Perfectly Matched is a wonderful story that features the power of faith and family working together in difficult times. I really felt for Nicki and Ben and all they went through for the love of a child. Their sacrifices, heartache and the stress were all palpable and realistic. This was a great conclusion to Ms. George's Hopeful Hearts series. I received a complimentary paperback from the publisher through Interviews and Reviews and was not required to write a positive review. The thoughts above are my own.
