I was looking forward to reading this book. Although the cover is simply gorgeous, and the synopsis drew me in, I'm afraid that this book was something I could not finish. I found the way the characters spoke too formal for my taste. Perhaps it's the way they spoke in that era, and I am simply unfamiliar with that, but it was difficult for me. I had some issues with what was going on in the story, mainly the part where the male character told the female that they had to get married after only knowing each other for a day because he was worried about her and wanted to make sure she was taken care of.

I'll give the author kudos as it appears that she had done her research on WWII for this book from how far I got and I did not come across any typos at all. I'm thinking about re-visiting this book in the future as it may be something I may enjoy down the road. I can admit this a different style of books that I have read before so I'm going to look into her other titles to see what else she has written because there was something about her writing that piqued my interest further.
