This first book in the “Extreme Measures” series was gripping from start to finish! The action revolves around an EMS helicopter pilot, Penny Carlton, and FBI Special Agent, Holt Satterfield. When Penny has to navigate an emergency landing on a mountain in a raging storm, she has no idea there is a serial killer on the loose. And when Holt joins the chase, the killer is taken down—or so they believe…

With strong characters, plenty of surprise twists, and interesting subplots to spin off in future stories, this was fast-paced, action-packed, and everything a romantic suspense reader lives for!

Life Flight is the first book in the new Extreme Measures series by Lynette Eason. This story was about a helicopter pilot. She has a critical patient on board, and she needs to make an emergency landing. She does not realize a serial killer is out there in the woods looking for her. Together she and her past love go looking for the serial killer.
 
The love is still there for Holt and Penny. This story was suspenseful from beginning to end. The read was gripping where I did not want to put it down.  It has a moving storyline and an inspirational story to it too.

Oh, my! If a book ever deserved the label 'psychological thriller', it would be Life Flight. This story begins with a harrowing situation, and the fear, danger, and uncertainty never let up.

Helicopter pilot Penny Carlton and FBI Special Agent Holton Satterfield are accustomed to stress in their jobs, but they now find themselves pushed to their limits.  From a forced helicopter landing, to an escaped convict on the loose, and a serial killer who can't be caught....all of these plot developments make this a book that I couldn't put down.

Author Lynette Eason has written a book that I won't soon forget, with amazing characters and an intriguing plot that is filled with twists and turns. Penny and Hoyt work well together and they share a special chemistry, but the villain is the truly fascinating character. No, I couldn't like him but I was totally captivated by his cunning nature and his truly evil acts. Time after time, I felt myself holding my breath to see what he would do next, because some of his deeds are what nightmares are made of!

If you're looking for an adrenaline rush, grab a copy of Life Flight. Eason displays her exceptional talent for writing romantic suspense, and she tempts readers with the promise of another book in the Extreme Measures series.

Simply superb!

This book was filled with heart-pounding rescues, best friends who have walked with each other through fire and flood, snatches of clean and realistic romance, humor and jaw-dropping plot twists. I loved the team's camaraderie, caring attitudes, and grit in the face of danger. Also, Holt and Penny were a great crime-stopping duo.  Loved it a lot, and can't wait for the sequel!

A real page-turner, exciting and not overdone!

Wow! What a nail biter. I have long been a fan of Lynette Eason. What is special about this book is that it is completely believable and exciting but not over-the-top with unrealistic scenarios.

Penny, the chopper pilot, is very smart and has even rescued FBI agent Holton Satterfield. They meet again when a serial killer is loose in a remote area on a mountain. Penny has to make an emergency landing and is unaware of the menace.

Penny and Holt and their coworkers are likable. Some are Christians, and I appreciate that the author shows their faith as natural. The villain was very creepy, and some scenes were disturbing. I liked that Penny was strong, and she used her brain as much as her defensive moves.

“Things were clicking in her brain, little pieces of information swimming around up there, but she had no idea how to put it all together.” Well, She did it! Just in time. There were some surprises at the end, including a second problem that Holt was working on.

A fantastic start to a new series: Extreme Measures. Ms. Eason keeps proving to be a favorite.

I had read books 2-4 of the Danger Never Sleeps series, along with Protecting Tanner Hollow, before this, so obviously, I became a FAN of Lynette Eason.  
 
The main characters are Holt and Penny, who met roughly two years prior when she had to save his life after Darius Rabor tried to kill him. Rabor is loose again, and Holt has to save Penny.  
 
Backing Penny is her flight crew – Holly and Raina. Backing up Holt – Julianna, Grace, and Marty. Each supporting character is perfectly written and works to complement the main characters.  
 
Eason doesn’t create just one case in Life Flight – she has two. This is not just about catching Rabor, but also Holt’s sister Rachel is trying to get him to take another look at their sister Zoe’s murder conviction.  
 
This is different from other romantic suspense novels. The two main leads here already know and care about each other – it is in “formalizing” their relationship and acting on it. Other books lead the reader through the suspense to get to the romance.  
 
From the cover, this looks like it will be an exciting read. It is. But, it is also an intense, shocking, extreme, edge-of-seat read that has twists and turns similar to that of a thrill ride.  
 
Eason knows how to keep readers engaged, and the use of relatively short chapters and fast-paced action keeps the story moving. I almost couldn’t put it down, and I would’ve read it in 1-2 days had I not been in the middle of decorating for Christmas. By the end of chapter one, I was pretty sure I was going to need CPR, and by the end of chapter two – fairly certain a defibrillator was in the future.  
 
This is told mainly from Holt and Penny’s POV, though a few scenes from Rabor’s (the serial killer) POV. His was perhaps the most disturbing. 
 
Eason wasted no time getting to the heart of the suspense and action – Penny has to emergency land in the same mountain where escaped killer Rabor was last seen.  
 
Rabor is cunning and vicious. Truly diabolical and bold. Eason definitely didn’t hold back with this baddie. Each encounter was creepy and calculated. It wasn’t a matter of if he’d get to Penny, but when. 
 
Just when I thought Eason had surprised me with her previous books, I got sandbagged by this one. But I LOVED it! 
 
It will definitely keep you up at night – if not for the serial killer aspect, the high-octane action and excitement will. You’ll have to keep reading to find out what is coming next.    
 
The only thing I had an issue with was the use of “BUCAR” to describe Holt’s SUV. I had no idea what it was. Turns out – BUCAR is SLANG for an FBI agent’s vehicle – BUREAU CAR (BUCAR). It is not a “model” of a vehicle.  
 
Plot-wise, I wanted a little more out of what happened to Penny’s supervisor Mike Bishop. It seemed that there was potential for that storyline, and it got left behind. While I hated the guy immensely during the crisis, something was there. 
 
The little things I had an issue with were substantially overshadowed by how well this was written and played out. It kept my attention from beginning to end. I am looking forward to seeing how things go in book #2 and can’t wait to see how Zoe’s storyline progresses further down the road. 
 
Despite being distributed by Revell and being a clean read, there are very few references to Christian and faith themes. There are some prayers – but no real mentions of God, bible quotes, or even sermons.  
 
Those who enjoy the author’s work are sure to enjoy this read. Fans of Elizabeth Goddard and Patricia Bradley won’t want to miss this either.

I love Lynette’s books and this one did not disappoint. With nonstop action, a serial killer on the loose, a nosy reporter, and a bit of romance, it’s perfect.

Holt almost lost his life to a serial killer who’s now escaped from prison. When Penny, the pilot who saved his life, ends up on Darius Rabor’s radar, the manhunt becomes even more personal. 

Penny knows Rabor is dangerous, but when she becomes the one he obsesses over, her whole world is turned upside down. The only constant is Holt, who refuses to open up to her about his personal life. Can she trust him?

If you love romantic suspense, this is the book for you.
