Author: Patricia Bradley Genre: Romantic Suspense Carly Smith came by her trust issues honestly. A victim of sex trafficking, she's been at the mercy of merciless men, ignored by law enforcement officers who should have helped her, and seemingly rejected by her family. She can't even trust herself to do the right thing. Though she escaped her captors and is working hard on building a new life, the past continues to haunt her when she discovers that the man she couldn't bring herself to report to police for fear of reliving her captivity is still out there, luring vulnerable girls under the guise of being a modeling agent. When her own niece is kidnapped, Carly must overcome her fears and come forward with the information she has before it's too late. When that proves to be not enough, she'll have to go after the perpetrators herself. Award-winning author Patricia Bradley keeps the suspense taut and the stakes high in this fast-paced story that will have readers turning pages long into the night. Reviewer: Mindy Houng Wow. I’ve been following Patricia Bradley’s Memphis Cold Case series and have loved the books so far, but this one blew my socks off! In her trademark fashion, Patricia Bradley starts the book off with a bang and weaves an intricate plot with twists and turns and surprises along the way at a fast pace. If you enjoy well-written suspense with non-stop action and characters that grab your heart, you will absolutely love this book. Carly, our heroine, is a victim of trafficking, but she rises above her fears and past mistakes to become a substance abuse counselor to young women. She’s strong, determined, intelligent yet emotionally vulnerable. Logan is a Memphis police officer who dated Carly many years ago before her disappearance. He’s strong, steady, and dependable and ends up crossing paths with Carly multiple times when she returns to Memphis. Unfortunately, her return triggers a cascade of events that Carly hadn’t predicted and she must learn to trust others and work with them to rescue her kidnapped niece. There is also a subplot of romance between Maggie (criminal defense lawyer) and widower David (cold case detective) who also happens to be Carly’s brother-in-law and father of the missing child. The romance between both couples is sweet and only a small portion of the plot. The cold case of Carly’s sister’s unresolved death plays a minor role in the story but does serve to jumpstart the action and tie everything together. The book is fourth in the series but can definitely be read as a stand-alone. There are cameo appearances of previous characters but they’re so inconspicuous that you wouldn’t even catch them in the story unless you knew who they were. Patricia Bradley is a master of grab-the-edge-of-your-seat suspense and you don’t want to miss this one! I received a copy of the book from Baker Publishing via Interviews & Reviews book review program and was under no obligation to post a positive review. All comments and opinions are solely my own. Reviewer: Connie Brown This is certainly an action filled, never a dull moment read. I enjoyed following Carly through her journey and her strength as well. At times it seemed the events were over the top and hard to believe but then again I am just realizing the horrors of human trafficking do exist. It’s made me more aware of people and situations around me. Nice job handling this topic Patricia Bradley! I received a free copy of this book from Baker Publishing through the Interviews and Reviews program in order to review. Reviewer: Gee Dixon This is the first time I have read a novel from Patricia Bradley and I must admit that she kept me at the edge of my seat. I was trying to guess throughout the book who the villain was and was surprised when I found out I was wrong. I am anxious to read many more books from Patricia Bradley. This is Book 4 of her Memphis Cold Case Novels. Book was provided courtesy of Baker Publishing. Reviewer: Rebecca Maney "None of us deserve forgiveness . . . if you don't forgive . . . it will eat you alive." Years. It had taken "Carly Smith" years to get up enough nerve to re-enter the world that she had been forced to leave behind at the tender age of seventeen. Initiating contact with her older sister, Lia Morgan Raines, felt finally felt right, but once again years have passed since Lia's suspicious death on the night of their reunion. The woman's demise had been classified as a cold case and no one but Carly holds the kind of information that might help law enforcement re-open the investigation. After escaping eight years of forced prostitution, Carly is certain that the names and faces that she recalls have changed, but risking a trip back to Memphis where it all began is one that she is determined to make. She trusts no one; not her cop brother-in-law, not her once-boyfriend Logan, not anyone associated with the house party that had connected her with an experienced trafficker. Eventually, after her re-appearance sets off a shock wave of violent events, Carly decides that she has to trust someone. Who can help her ensure that justice is finally delivered? With its myriad of twists and turns, this book was difficult to put down; every chapter raised more questions than it answered and every character had multiple roadblocks to overcome. Ultimately, it was forgiveness that untangled the details of this well plotted case, showcasing Patricia Bradley's skillful ability to write stories that count. I received a copy of "Justice Delivered" from Baker Publishing through Interviews and Reviews.
