Hummingbird Kisses

Picture
Author: Delia Latham
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Toni Littlebird believes that when she meets the man God created for her, she’ll know—and she’ll love him in that very moment.

But then Dax Hendrick roars into Hummingbird Hollow on a noisy, crippled Harley, stinking up the air and chasing away her beloved hummingbirds. One look into the intruder’s eyes and her heart sinks. He’s “The One.” She’d been right about knowing, but wrong about something far more important: She will never love this man!

Toni Littlebird, owner of Inn the Hollow, of Hummingbird Hollow, has a special infinity for hummingbirds. Hummingbird Hollow has hundreds, probably thousands, of hummingbirds that live there and many of them "know" Toni. Toni is able to talk to them and they understand her. They seem to know when she is happy or sad and their actions show they are reacting to her mood. They light on her shoulder or arm and they know they are safe.

The descriptions of the hummingbirds by the author, Delia Latham, is so detailed that the reader can "see" the hummingbirds - their colors and movements. There is, of course, a delightful love story in this novella, one that every reader will enjoy. This is a short story that will hold your interest until the very end.

“Toni Littlebird believes that when she meets the man God created for her, she’ll know – and she’ll love him in that very moment.”

This line drew me to this book and Delia didn’t disappoint!  This book was so encouraging for those who like Toni Littlebird are trusting God to bring them “The One.”  I found this story to be captivating and it drew me in as I related to the characters. It has an excellent mixture of humanity and spirituality with dependence on God.

The descriptive imagery in this book was also amazing. I felt like I could clearly visualize Hummingbird Hollow and I especially liked how Delia used nature and God’s creature to speak to the characters.

This book was charming and hard to put down once I started and even though  you may think you know how the book ends, there are plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can’t wait to check out more of Delia’s work.
