Author: Lynette Eason Genre: Mystery/Suspense Series: Danger Never Sleeps #4 Release Date: August 3, 2021 Secrets are about to be revealed . . . but will the guilty be brought to justice? Ava Jackson entered the military shortly after high school, but her mother's illness has forced her to request an early discharge. She already lost her father while deployed, and there's no way she's going to let her mother die alone. But after a visit to the nursing facility where her mother lives, Ava is attacked walking back to her car. Fortunately, FBI Special Agent Caden Denning arrives in time to help fight off her attacker. Caden reveals to Ava that she may hold the key to the murders of three families, and he needs her help before anyone else is harmed. The hits show a pattern, and clearly the killer has an agenda. But if Caden and Ava can't discover what it is, Ava may be next on the hit list. Reviewer: Gee Dixon Ava did not know through the years that her father had Russian connections and why he travelled so much. She thought he was traveling writer. Her mother was in a care facility due to dementia. Families are killed and Caden and Ava are investigating until Ava is in trouble with her dad that was presumed dead. I love a suspenseful story and that is exactly on that trail 100%. The author has a way of entwining God throughout the story that prayer was not answered always what the characters wanted but what God wanted. I received this book courtesy of Revell through Interviews & Reviews. Reviewer: Abigail Harder Lynette Eason does it again! She has written yet another book that had me on the edge of my seat, biting my fingernails that whole time. I do not know how Mrs. Eason is able to craft such amazing suspense novels, but every time I read one, I am intrigued from page one. The characters were so amazing, which honestly does not shock me. I loved both Ava and Caden so much! They both had amazing character growth and their romance was so stickin' amazing!! Although friends to lovers isn't my all time favorite trope, it still is amazing!! If you have not picked up this series or a book by Mrs. Eason then you really, really need too! I cannot begin to even explain how much I love her books!!!! I am so eager to see what Mrs. Eason has for us next! I just know that it is going to be phenomenal!! Ava and her father like to solve puzzles and word games. Both the father and daughter were very intelligent and could also defend themselves very well. When Ava finished high school, she enlisted in the Navy. She needed to get a discharge because of her mother's poor health. Ava's father was known to be dead. Ava was grieving heavily for her Dad and her Mother who lived in an assisted living center. One evening after Ava visited her Mother, she was attacked in the parking lot. She was able to get away from her attacker because of her great defensive skills and with the help of a childhood friend named Caden Denning. Caden was working on a case where families were all executed in their homes. Caden was very suspicious that the case had something to do with Ava and her father. So, Caden felt that he needed to stay close to Ava to help protect her. There was a very sinister villain in this story. He was responsible for killing these families and if he felt that they had information, he would also torture them before he killed them. This was very hard for me to read because of the evil this man held. There was also another person in this story who wanted revenge and this fed this villain's rage. Poor Ava was caught in a web of lies - you need to read this story to believe how she protected her loved ones from harm. There are a lot of twists and turns in this story and it held my interest. There was also a big surprise towards the end of this tale. This book was provided courtesy of Revell through Interviews & Reviews for my honest opinion. Reviewer: Paula Shreckhise I have not read a Lynette Eason book that I have not loved. This fourth book in the series Danger Never Sleeps reminds me of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy with its cast of characters from FBI, CIA and other agencies. It is another thrilling story with cameos of characters from previous books. I like that this group of friends is there for each other when one needs support, be it physical, spiritual or emotional. This was a wild ride for Ava and Caden, childhood friends who are becoming closer as they track a killer. The story was fast-paced with lots of action and many questions to be answered, along with interesting information about puzzles, hacking, and what makes a criminal tick. Ava and Caden try their best to thwart the person who is after Ava and seek to outwit him before he succeeds in kidnapping her. But other emergencies get in the way and the killer will not let up! Fantastic ending to a terrific series that cements Ms. Eason as an all time favorite author. A complimentary copy of this book was provided by Revell through Interviews & Reviews. I was not required to give a favorable review. All opinions are my own. Reviewer: June McCrary Jacobs Another fast-paced thriller from Lynette Eason . . . This is the third book in this 'Danger Never Sleeps' series that I have read. As always, the author kicks off her story with heart-pumping action and an intricate mystery for the protagonists to solve. A recent US Navy retiree, Ava Jackson is a strong woman with an unusual skill set. She is independent, physically adept at hand-to-hand combat, and determined to get to the bottom of a family mystery that has plagued her for nearly a year. Caden Denning, a childhood neighbor, and brother of Ava's close friend, Sarah, is an FBI agent who is investigating a horrendous murder spree while at the same time trying to protect Ava from an unknown assailant. When the two join forces to discover who is perpetrating these acts, the story gets truly interesting. Caden and Ava possess different skills, and together their talents add up to one highly effective investigative package. There are many surprises in this tightly woven plot that I thoroughly enjoyed. The villain is exceptionally despicable who knows no boundaries. The settings used throughout the story are well-developed and well-described. The faith element in the story consists mainly of prayers sent up in moments of crisis, but we also learn more about these characters' beliefs in the second half of the book. Highly recommended for fans of Christian/clean romance, Christian/clean suspense, and Christian/clean law enforcement fiction. I received a paperback copy of this book from Revell through Interviews & Reviews. All of my thoughts and opinions expressed here are solely my own. Reviewer: Rebecca Maney "I need to talk to you about something . . . . A murder that you may be somehow mixed up in." So many questions; so very few answers. Ava Jackson had simply been living her life as quietly as possible, having requested and received an early discharge from the Navy in order to oversee the care of her critically ill mother and to support her younger brother through medical school. Following the unexpected death of her father, and while still grieving, the last thing that Ava expected on her way through a dark parking lot on that fateful evening was an attempt on her life; thank goodness her friend, FBI Agent Caden Denning, had good timing. Subsequently, Caden's questions about her possible connection to the recent murder of nearly an entire family leave Ava wondering if the time has finally come to delve deeper into her father's past. Can she trust Caden to handle family secrets, maybe even help her make sense of them all? Sure, Ava had crushed on him as a teenager, the hunky older brother of one of her best friends, but the kinds of feelings the man stirs up as an adult are totally different and if she would admit it, come rather close to being defined as attraction. What a brilliant, tantalizing thriller! With a killer who exhibits no remorse, only unadulterated revenge and a body count that keeps rising, surprisingly it may be the characters in this book who are long remembered for the tender authenticity with which they respond to each other; keeping the reader emotionally engaged and providing pleasant breathing room between high speed scenarios. Ultimately it will come down to this, will Ava and Caden survive long enough to enjoy that elusive "third date"? Reviewer: Mindy Houng It's another riveting suspense novel from Lynette Eason. Having read the other books in the series, I was expecting Caden and Ava to be thrown together and I really liked that though we knew of Caden from previous novels, we really got to know him in this one. Ava was mostly on the periphery previously so it was also nice to get to know her. As usual, the author sets out an intricate plot with carefully planted details that all come together in the end. The suspense is absolutely riveting even when we know the villain from the beginning since he has an active voice in the story. There are flashbacks to catch us up on Ava's childhood as well as a wonderful crossover secondary character from Vow of Justice (the author's Blue Justice series). Caden and Ava's romance is sweet and natural, especially since they grew up together. The villain's methodology in fulfilling his 'mission' made me a little uneasy but I get that this was to show how he came to be the villain that he is. It's a well-written conclusion to another great suspense series by the author. I received the book from Baker Publishing and was under no obligation to post a positive comment.
