I really enjoyed this book. It had a good pace, not too slow, not too fast. I appreciated the references to the faith of the characters, and the strength that they demonstrated in difficult situations.

And the detail was superb. I've actually had a family member in a coma from a traumatic brain injury, so that part really hit home with me.

Overall, it was a very enjoyable read, and I would certainly read more of the author's work.

Kristin Dane wants to make the world a better place, so she opens a fair trade shop featuring products from all over the world. Across the world, Brother Michael Bennett, a monk in a monastery in Syria, makes a frightening discovery and is found dead, presumably of natural causes.  When Kristin's employee is found murdered, a gruesome plot is discovered, and she must work closely with the St. Louis Police Department and the FBI to help find the mastermind behind a deadly terrorist scheme.

"Hidden Peril" is the second installment in Irene Hannon's Code of Honor series. As always, Hannon entertains until the end.  Although easy to figure out, it as fun to witness the interaction between Kristin and Luke Carter, the detective assigned to her case.  I enjoyed their little romance as they each deserved to find some happiness after the losses they had both endured.

It is hard to go wrong when choosing a Hannon novel--from action to suspense to mystery and romance, Hannon consistently delivers quality work.
