WOW! This book kept me up way past my usual bedtime because it was too good to stop reading. Set in beautiful Alaska, readers get a glimpse of what it may be like living in this beautiful state.

Former FBI special agent Ivy Elliott joins forces with State Trooper Nolan Long, in order to have help finding this manuscript that could very well be worth big bucks. This journey with Ivy and Nolan was full of thrills and chills that will have you biting your nails. The search for this unpublished book brings many new views and understanding about the beauty, as well as the dangers lurking in Alaska.

I think Elizabeth Goddard does a fabulous job writing this wonderful book. I fell in love with the characters, especially Ivy. This sweet character tugged at my heartstrings throughout the book. Nolan was adorable, and I kept trying to make him see how much Ivy cared for him.

All the supporting characters join together with Nolan and Ivy to make this a beautifully written book. Thanks to Elizabeth Goddard for the intensive research on Hidden in the Night. With each scene, I felt as though I was living the time with the authors. What a time that would be! If only it were real! Reading this series has given me hope that I can go see this wonderful land, and many snow-filled mountains we call Alaska.

I’m giving this book Five Stars, and I can’t wait for what is next from this wonderful author, Elizabeth Goddard. If you enjoy a good Christian romantic suspense with lots of mystery and fantastic chills that will take over your mind for a good long while, you will love, love Hidden in the Night by Elizabeth Goddard.

“Hidden in the Night”, the third installment in Elizabeth Goddard’s Missing in Alaska series, is a pulse-pounding thriller that plunges readers into the icy, perilous landscape of Glacier Bay, Alaska.

The story opens with a bang, immersing readers in an atmospheric setting of snow-covered trees and mini avalanches. This frigid backdrop sets the stage for former FBI special agent Ivy Elliott, now a rare-book collector, who arrives in Alaska at her ailing mother’s request. Ivy’s mission is to secure an unpublished Jack London manuscript that has been hidden for decades. However, upon her arrival, she discovers that the manuscript has been stolen by the granddaughter of its previous possessor—a vulnerable girl with a dark past of human trafficking.

The plot quickly escalates when Ivy, conducting a welfare check on a local resident, finds a man bleeding out from a stab wound. His dying words, “Find her,” propel Ivy into a relentless search for the missing girl. Teaming up with Alaska State Trooper Nolan Long, Ivy faces a treacherous journey marked by a brutal blizzard, acts of sabotage, and the harshest elements of an Alaskan winter. Goddard masterfully weaves a narrative that is as much about survival and resilience as it is about unraveling the mystery behind the stolen manuscript and the girl’s disappearance.

What sets “Hidden in the Night” apart is its expertly crafted suspense and character development. Ivy Elliott is a compelling protagonist—resourceful, determined, and driven by a strong moral compass. Her partnership with Nolan Long adds depth to the narrative, with their dynamic evolving from mutual respect to a deeper, more personal connection. The stark, unforgiving Alaskan wilderness serves as both a breathtaking backdrop and a formidable antagonist, heightening the tension and urgency of their mission.

Goddard’s writing is vivid and immersive, capturing the bone-chilling cold and the relentless challenges of the Alaskan landscape. The plot is intricately woven, with each clue leading to more questions and escalating the stakes. The suspense is palpable, and the twists are well-timed, keeping readers on the edge of their seats. The themes of redemption, trust, and the fight against human trafficking add layers of emotional depth to the thriller, making it not just a quest for a missing manuscript, but a fight for justice and humanity.

“Hidden in the Night” is a standout entry in the Missing in Alaska series, offering a thrilling blend of mystery, action, and emotional resonance. Elizabeth Goddard has crafted a novel that will captivate fans of the genre, providing a bone-chilling, heart-pounding adventure that explores the darkest corners of human nature and the indomitable spirit needed to confront them. This book is a must-read for anyone looking for a gripping story set against the stark, beautiful, and deadly backdrop of Alaska.

This is a complex mystery with fast-paced action and undeniable romantic attraction, set in the stunning yet deadly Alaskan wilderness!

Former FBI special agent Ivy Elliott is on a personal mission to leave the sunshine of her Florida home in order to retrieve a rare missing book manuscript—in Alaska.

When she discovers there is a young girl's life on the line somehow relating to this manuscript, Ivy joins forces with her former crush and hunky Alaska State Trooper, Nolan Long. Both have to work through job-related trauma and their romantic connection as they focus on finding the truth before it's too late.

This is the third book in the "Missing in Alaska" series, and although there are familiar characters included, this novel can easily be read as a fantastic stand-alone title.

I received a complimentary copy from Revell Publishers through Interviews & Reviews. All opinions expressed are my own.

So close yet so far away is how I felt about Ivy and Nolan and their relationship. Nolan lives in Alaska, and Ivy lives in Florida, and they keep meeting up in Alaska. In fact, Nolan was going to take a much-needed vacation down to Florida to find Ivy, whom he dubs Sunshine Girl. Then a bunch of bad things start happening, which may or may not be connected, and not only is he needed in Alaska because he is a state trooper, but also, low and behold, Ivy is back in Alaska.

Ivy is keeping some secrets close to her chest. Her mom has been diagnosed with cancer again, and she is in want of a lost manuscript. I found the storyline of a long-lost Jack London story a bit fascinating. There is some major superstition about it, and Ivy is also trying to get it for another reason. But this only leads her to a murder and a missing young woman. Which Ivy cannot walk away from. Much to Nolan's chagrin.

These two were interesting. They liked each other and had chemistry, yet I don't know if it was fear or pride that kept them apart for so long. Instead of working together on the case, they were more stubborn than usual for a while.

I really liked getting to know Alaska and its climate a little bit better. I just assumed that Alaska was always cold and dark during the winter. However, that is not the case, as Ivy learns, that not all of Alaska is like that. Not even their water freezes like the Great Lakes do.

The search for a missing young woman in small communities and over a great distance where there was not a huge police presence and people were tight-lipped added a certain tension as time was running out to find her. And all this while an unusual winter storm hit too. There is a lot going on in this latest addition to the series, Missing in Alaska.

There is a lesson in this story that having faith when everything looks bleak can offer hope.

"Still, that she was once again staring at Scripture on a wall felt like God was reaching out to remind her of his constant presence in her life, even when she still didn't feel like he was near.  But he was here in the middle of this literal storm."

This comes from a place in the story when Ivy feels like the walls are closing in on her.  This provided comfort to her and gave her peace.

Ivy Elliott is a former FBI Special Agent who had to leave her job to take care of her ailing mother.  She works on finding on rare books, which is how she has landed in Alaska.  She is here to buy an unpublished manuscript that was never published and was written by Jack London.  Ivy has struggled and is haunted by the loss of her sister.  She feels responsible for her sister's death. She has carried this heavy burden far too long.

Alaska State trooper Nolan Long is battling his own demons from his past, but now he must put those regrets aside and keep Ivy safe from an unknown person who seems intent on killing her.  These two crossed paths earlier and made an impression on each other, but romance is out of the question right now as they are on the run for their lives from the wrath of mother nature and danger of the human kind.

The descriptions of the setting in Glacier Bay National Park and its landscape are breathtaking, but there are hidden dangers in this beautiful landscape which you must respect as well.  This was a fast-paced mystery with plenty of action.  There was tension that you can literally feel coming off of the pages.  There was a great blend of faith-filled suspense, a touch of romance and the lesson of embracing faith and allowing forgiveness to set these characters free from their bonds.

Thank you to the author and Revell Books for this ARC.  I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Alaska - a remote and beautiful place and very hard for State Trooper Nolan Long to police. Equally hard for former FBI agent Ivy Elliot to search for a missing girl who has a unique lost manuscript attributed to Jack London. Ivy and Nolan met last summer and neither one can forget that short but sweet week.

Full of intrigue, harrowing adventures and appealing romance, this story has sinister overtones and an unexpected mystery lurking in the permafrost.

I loved seeing characters from previous books. The writing is solid, the plot riveting and the faith element is skillfully imparted.

Another intense offering in a noteworthy series by an excellent author.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell on behalf of the author from the Revell Reads Program and via NetGalley. I was not required to post a favorable review. All opinions are mine alone.

“Joining forces with Alaska State Trooper Nolan Long, Ivy must battle a blizzard, sabotage, and the worst of an Alaskan winter as the search goes on,” states the description on Amazon in Elizabeth Goddard’s novel, Hidden in the Night.

The third in the Missing in Alaska series, this three-hundred-and-fifty-two-page advanced reader copy targets those interested in a clean romantic suspense based in rural Alaska. With no profanity, topics of physical abuse, human trafficking, murder, and death may not be appropriate for immature readers. The ending includes acknowledgments, an excerpt from another book by the writer, the author’s biography, and advertisements.

This continuing story involves Ivy Elliot, a rare book collector who travels to Alaska to find and purchase a lost manuscript. When she runs into State Trooper Nolan Long, who had saved her previously and they had connected romantically, the two must track down why the one who has the manuscript is missing, people are being killed, and she becomes a target. As they put their relationship on ice, their attraction heats up as they get closer to the killer.

Alaska is an amazing state with a lot to offer besides its gorgeous scenery. I appreciate how the author weaved the harshness of winter, complete with a gap wind, with the rugged terrain that the protagonists had to deal with. Having been to Alaska, I love the story’s vivid descriptions of the land, terrain, and beauty. The plot has many twists and turns as the two uncover the real story behind the missing manuscript. It can be a stand-alone read in the series, even with a few of its prior characters involved.

Those who do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ may not be interested in this story, but it's limited in its references of praying to God and Bible verses. There are plenty of characters (some from the previous two books), making it a little confusing.

It would help if a list of characters were provided at the beginning of the book. I wish the book gave the eternal plan of salvation, and I prefer all pronouns of God capitalized for reverence.

If you like romantic suspense thrillers, this third book in the series will bring chills to your spine as Ivy and Nolan uncover the truth while melting away their fears of the past.

I received a complimentary copy from Revell through Interviews & Reviews. I was under no obligation to give a positive review.
