Author: Sarah Gaston Genre: Children's Books Pages: 29 Release Date: September 4, 2023 Publisher: Sarah Gaston Celebrate Christmas with Ozzy! Choose a costume for the Nativity play at church, pick out a Christmas tree, cook Christmas Eve dinner, and more! Encourage independence with this interactive book of choices. Toddlers and Preschoolers will grow in confidence and communication, as they make choices with Ozzy and learn the real reason for Christmas! Reviewer: Jane Mouttet Sarah Gaston has crafted a cute picture book for toddlers. It is designed after the choose-your-own-adventure books that were popular for a time. She starts with a short introduction for caregivers about the importance of giving toddlers choices. Each two-page spread gives the child a choice to make—what to wear, what activity to do, what gift to give, where to shop, what tree to get, and how to decorate it. Unlike the choose-your-own-adventure stories, the choice does not change anything in the story. Patrizia Diana’s illustrations are whimsical and cartoon-like. They really are a part of the story, illustrating the choices that need to be made. Help Ozzy Choose: Christmas is a great book for toddlers and preschoolers. I don’t think I would add it to a K–12 Christian school library, though, unless the school has a preschool. The story is probably below most kindergarteners. I received a complimentary copy courtesy of the author through Interviews & Reviews. This is my honest review. Reviewer: Jeanette Durkin This is a fantastic book! I love the character Ozzy. He's so cute. The illustrations are very detailed and entertaining. The idea of being able to choose is great! I also like that the book points to God. I teach the preschool class at my church, and I will be buying this book! It's entertaining and fun. I was provided a copy of the book by the author via Interviews and Reviews.
