Another perfect dual-time novel where past meets present. This new to me author has done an excellent job in weaving these elements together so you don't notice it. This book is a perfect example of what true love and family should be about.

I devoured this book in a couple of hours it was so good!

Ayers did her job in keeping my attention throughout this beautiful and sweet story that I didn't want it to end. I loved how she described the scenery. It reminded me of the Waltons and the diner scenes reminded me of Happy Days.

Such wonderful characters that I hated saying goodbye to Noah, Emma, and Alice. My heart went out to Noah because he's one of those people pleasers and wears his heart on his sleeve. He's a good guy. I wish Emma was in the story more than she was. I feel like she got shorted, so to speak. 

I loved the "past" part of the story if that makes any sense. I think it's because I feel like their lives were more interesting than ours is today. I will still give this book five stars, simply because of the beautiful writing and I love Southern novels.

I highly recommend this sweet story.
