Author: Andi Andrew Genre: Christian Living/ Spiritual Growth It's time to ask ourselves, "Am I really following Jesus? Or am I just faking it?" With eye-opening personal stories, Scripture, and thought-provoking questions, Andi Andrew lovingly invites us to examine our hearts to discover whether our faith is a genuine, life-giving marriage of belief and practice in response to Christ's life and sacrifice or just a lifestyle choice on par with any other. She encourages us to daily surrender our whole lives to Jesus, grapple with hard questions we have been avoiding, and discover a life lived wide awake, following in the way, the truth, and the life of Jesus Christ. Reviewer: Laura J. Davis Fake or Follower by Andi Andrew is an honest, heartfelt cry to the masses. Are you going through the motions or are you living out your life in such a way that it points everyone you meet to Jesus? Andi writes with a passion that practically jumps off the pages. She is earnest in her desire for Christians to "Follow Jesus, refusing to settle for a shallow or fake faith with every breath you take, as they are the very breath of God given to you as a gift." She touches on many truths and reasons why Christians today feel like they are just going through the motions. A lot of it has to do with social media, and I think she has touched on something with her exploration of it. The body of Christ has become self-obsessed, and it's time for us to get back to our first love (Revelation 2:4). At the end of each chapter, Andi has some questions that take you a little further, examining your heart to see where you are in your walk with the Lord. The only problem I had with this well-written book is the author's use of the heretical The Passion Translation. For someone who can discern how much the body of Christ has fallen away from their first love, she is woefully naive when it comes to using this Bible as her final authority. If you need the inspiration to follow Jesus again, read this book, but read it with a King James Version close at hand. Book provided courtesy of Baker Publishing and Graf-Martin Communications, Inc.
