Dream Again (McIntosh Brothers #1) by Ann Marie Bryan is not your normal lukewarm Christian novel. This book is unapologetically Christian with themes of suffering, fear, the purpose of loss, and finding a vibrant faith.

Carter and Gianna both suffered a great loss in their lives. After crushing loss, Carter found his way to intimacy with God and trust in God’s love and plan. Gianna determined she would stay single because of past hurt, but then she met Carter. His character and love for Christ changed her mind until the past caught up with her. This was God’s open door to teach her more lessons.

If you struggle with trusting God, this book is better than most sermons. It allows you to live through the characters and points out self-defeating behaviors. Who knows, answers may await you. At the very least, you will read a book that reminds you of timeless principles and makes you smile.

My only struggle was with the wealthy lifestyle of the characters. It seemed a bit like a fairy tale, but then sometimes God’s work in our lives resembles one.
