Author: Andrew Huff Genre: Mystery/Suspense Series: Shepherd Suspense #2 All journalist Christine Lewis wants is the truth. All pastor John Cross wants is to avoid it. Former CIA agent turned evangelical pastor John Cross is busy caring for the small community of believers he ministers to in Virginia. Journalist Christine Lewis is busy with the demand for her talents from top news agencies in New York City. Neither has any time left for their relationship, which began eight months before when they paired up to prevent the detonation of a chemical bomb in the nation's capital. But when Christine hears that her stepbrother has been arrested for murder in Texas, they team up again to discover the truth about the crime. Untangling a web of conspiracy, the couple finds themselves in the center of another dangerous situation-and in trouble far deeper than they expected. With an assassin on the loose, a trusted colleague acting as a double agent, and unreliable artificial intelligence connected to mercenaries who have Cross on their hit list, these two may not get out of the Lone Star State alive. Reviewer: Anna Bottoms Cross Shadow is another winner by Andrew Huff. From start to finish it screams with heart stopping, action packed car chases, shootouts, explosives, and intrigue, what more could a suspense lover ask for? John Cross! In this book John is at a crossroad wondering what God’s will for his life is. As a retired CIA agent, and pastor of a small church how does he reconcile his love for his congregation, his relationship with Christine, and the pull of excitement from his former career? Christine has a newfound faith, and as a journalist she has a nose for danger. I love her determination not to take a back seat when trouble arrives, but rather to run headlong into it. Whenever she thinks she’s going one way, her life takes a drastic turn. This book was well written with dynamic, believable characters that literally jump off the pages. I find myself relating to them, and joining the team as they try to solve the mystery. Great book, I recommend it. I was given a copy courtesy Kregel Publications through Interviews and Reviews. This is my honest review of the book. Your comment will be posted after it is approved.
