A 25-year-old cold case in West Ireland sets off a chain of events that puts Haley in a battle for her life. It also places her in the capable hands of Detective Steven Rothwell who is infatuated with Haley from the moment he lays eyes on her. From the very beginning, Lynette Eason captivates with one big surprise after another. I enjoyed the romantic subplot between Haley and Steven. It was refreshing to see these characters not fight their feelings for each other and see where it let. They didn't have to talk about how they felt about each other. I was provided with a complimentary EPUB version of “Chasing Secrets”, the fourth book in a series by Eason called Elite Guardians. My review would probably have been a five-star except my EPUB version had formatting issues that caused me some confusion (scenes switched without a break in paragraphs or chapters). This book is bursting with a theme of forgiveness. All the characters are well developed and the plot kept me intrigued to the very end. A recommended read!
