Chloe finds herself attracted to the silent, suffering man. But can she trust him? And can Blake trust himself around this firecracker of a woman? Buckle in. This fast and furious ride will have your heart pumping from the very start. Reviewer: Jill Jones It didn’t take long for the St. Johns to capture readers’ hearts in Lynette Eason’s Blue Justice Series. This law enforcement family rivals the Reagan’s of ABC’s Blue Bloods. When one St. John is suffering or needs help, they are all there encouraging, comforting and cheering them on. When Chloe gets called to help Deputy US Marshall Blake MacCallum, a longtime friend of the St. John family, she finds herself falling in love with him. But, first, they must find his daughter, Rachel, who has been kidnapped by human traffickers who are also blackmailing Blake into killing a judge who has taken a tough stance on human trafficking. Chloe and Blake and the rest of the St. John crew must race the clock to find Rachel and the other girls before they are auctioned to the highest bidder. As usual, Eason delivers a heart-stopping novel and a look at one of the most horrible prevalent issues of our day. Human trafficking is hard to stop and the criminals harder to catch. Stories that bring to light the facts and challenges should haunt us until we find a way to put an end to this horrible crime. Book provided courtesy of Baker Publishing. Reviewer: Rebecca Maney "You have 24 hours to kill the judge. Make it look like an accident, if you fail, she dies." Deputy Marshall Blake MacCallum has hours, kidnappers have his daughter. When a fifteen car pile-up precipitates the discovery of young women trapped within the bowels of a human trafficking ring, Blake's daughter surfaces briefly, only to mysteriously fade back into the night. Frantic with worry, Blake confides in a team of high level law enforcement, including some of his best friends, members of the St. John family. It was Chloe St. John and her K-9 German shepherd partner, Hank, who discovered the girls. Chloe St. John and her family have a vested interest in finding Rachel MacCallum, their cousin Penny has been missing for over six months and the cases just intersected; the young woman Chloe escorted to the emergency room following the accident wore the same shirt that Penny was wearing on the night she disappeared. Blake MacCallum, her childhood crush, is another conundrum ; still as handsome as ever, but caught in an impossible situation. How fast can they race against time to undercut a highly motivated group of criminals? Rapid scene changes, multiple suspects, and highly charged emotions fill this second novel in Lynette Eason's "Blue Justice" series. Thankfully we have the confidence that "even when (we) walk through darkest valley, (we) will fear no evil, for You are with (us), your rod and your staff, they comfort (us)." Chloe and her K-9 Hank are trying to rescue Rachel and other girls that have been kidnapped for human trafficking. The team must hurry as the kidnappers want the Judge killed. Rachel realizes through all that she has gone through how much her dad (Blake) really loves her. This book was full of faith, trust, believing in others and God. It was full of twist and turns and I could not put it down. Book provided courtesy of Baker Publishing. Leave a Reply. |
