An amazing debut from Tasha Hackett called Bluebird On The Prairie is a wonderful novel about two people, both with their own problems, who encounter each other in ways neither of them had in mind.

Eloise Davidson, who is a widow, would prefer to keep everything the same. She has a hard time saying goodbye to everything she holds dear, especially regarding her dead husband. She prefers not to have anything to do with men, but can she avoid Zeke when he keeps popping up in places, wherever she goes, even in her own brother's house? Can she still rely on his words after he has hurt her deeply?

Although Zeke would prefer to reach California as soon as possible, he cannot avoid being held up along the way as he falls headfirst off the bank. When he finds work in the nearest town, he meets the woman more often, who helped him that moment. He cannot prevent himself from beginning to like her, perhaps even more than that. But then he says something, which Eloise doesn't like. The only option for him is to leave. But can he let Eloise go?

This story is extremely well crafted and well worth a read. The characters are well described, and there is a nice pace to the book. Highly recommended for anyone who loves historical romance and authors such as Karen Witemeyer, Deeanne Gist, and Melissa Jagears.

Bluebird On The Prairie is a great story that will make you smile from time to time and enjoy it until the last page! I am definitely looking forward to another book by Tasha Hackett!
