Mollie may soon find that someone far greater than her father is in control of the course of her life--and that even the command to "honor thy father" has its limits. Reviewer: Billy Varela This is a story of a young woman who had to decide between “honor your father,” and what she felt in her heart was right. This is based on the true story of Mary “Mollie” Sheehan. It is through her eyes of the trials and events that she went through as a little girl and as a young, married woman. I am not one who likes ‘based on a true story’ novels because we are not always guaranteed to get a good ending, but I am really glad I read this one. Mollie was a great character, but Peter Ronan was such a sweetheart. He was my favorite character. It does my heart good to know that this was based on a true story. Honestly, he was so respectful when he needed to be and so kind practically throughout the whole story. I love how Jane Kirkpatrick captured the essence of his character. Mollie’s father was a different story. He really tested Mollie’s patience, including mine. There is only so much “honor your father” that a person can do. Honestly, he used that too much. That was the only aggravating thing in this story, which kept things interesting because I did not know how things would play out. This book was filled with Christian messages. Mollie would pray for forgiveness or seek help from her heavenly Father or the father of the church. This book will interest anyone who loves a true story, historical novels, forbidden romance, and SPOILER…a happy ending. This book is clean from any inappropriate content and language. I requested and received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell through Interviews & Reviews. I was not required to give a favorable review. All opinions are my own. Leave a Reply. |
