Author: Rene Kinlaw Genre: Christian Living/Women's Issues We all have it. It comes in all shapes and sizes. It gladly attaches itself to everyone, never discriminating on age, race or gender. Some of us carry it around like a prized trophy. Many of us try to hide it, praying no one discovers our secrets. Others wrestle with the weight of its load. Some are born with it, while others collect it on this adventure called life. It really does not matter how you got it or when you got it, the truth is we all have it! Baggage! Despite our greatest efforts, we can't get rid of it. Learning to live with it is life's greatest challenge. Author Renee Kinlaw invites you to join her and a group of imperfect women who redefined their past by allowing it to become His-story. In this nine week Bible Study you will sit down and fellowship with Anna, the Adulterous Woman, Jairus’ Wife, and many other women of the New Testament. Come and listen to the stories of the abused, the broken, the failure, and the sinner as they discovered that Jesus loved them…Baggage and All. Reviewer: Kandace Perry I appreciated the insight and courage in the book “Baggage and All: Yesterday is His-Story,” written by Renee Kinlaw. Kinlaw shares with us the lives, the struggles, the joys, the moments of insight and discovery of various women that walked the same dusty roads and breathed the same air as Jesus. "Baggage and All” reminds us that women from the beginning of time have experienced challenges and accomplishments. We have had to re-chart our course time and time again; however, when we allow God to be a part of it, He walks the winding road with us. He helps us to grow in strength and to become over-comers. We grow in insight and courage when we discover the purpose of a difficult time and finally see the Path God intended for us. Kinlaw reminds us that there are times we want to hide and cover up our mistakes and heartache and yet, each of us are searching for an answer, looking for a way to lessen our pain or secretly searching for someone that we can relate to, someone that understands us. By sharing our personal journey, we are showing God’s Love, His Light, and His Acceptance to someone who may desperately need it. “Baggage and All” was an encouragement to me, a book I look forward to reading through again and sharing with others.
