Repetitious and simple language, make the concept of going to church easy to understand. Soon your toddler will be quoting 'Baby Dino Goes to Church' and knowing the Sunday morning routine better than anyone! This book also serves as comfort and familiarity to young children that are curious about church happenings, nervous about unknowns, or anxious about transitioning into nursery or Toddler Sunday School. Reviewer: Jane Mouttet Sarah Gaston has written a delightful book for toddlers and preschoolers. Many children in this age group are obsessed with dinosaurs. They also enjoy spending time with their friends. Gaston has combined the two and created a story about a young dinosaur who is excited to go to church with his family and to see his friends at church. She includes activities of a typical church service: worshiping, hearing God’s word, and, for some, coloring a paper to go with the sermon. Mousam Banerjee has crafted some delightful illustrations to complement the text. Children will enjoy looking at the pictures. Even though Baby Dino Goes to Church is written for a younger audience, I do think it could find a place in the picture book section of a K–12 Christian school library. Kindergarteners and first graders will enjoy it. It would also be a good example for a writing class about how to turn a simple activity into a delightful book for children. I received a complimentary copy of Baby Dino Goes to Church from the author through Interviews & Reviews. This is my honest review. Reviewer: Linda Klager The author touched on the major points of why we go to church. We go to worship in song, in prayer, and by hearing and listening to God's Holy Word. I also like that Baby Dino had friends at church who joined him and others in worship. The book was very beautifully illustrated. I loved the colorful pages and could picture the great family that Baby Dino was born into. What loving parents he had! I think preschool children would love to read this book. It would certainly help them appreciate going to church with their family. I know I was very blessed to see this strong family unit. I received a complimentary review copy courtesy of the author through Interviews & Reviews for my honest opinion. Your comment will be posted after it is approved.
