This book was action-packed and grabbed me from the first page.  Hannah Morgan is a Canadian border patrol officer who finds a young boy named Gabe wandering around in the wintery night of the Yukon territory.  Police Constable Layke Jackson is on loan in the area, heading up a task force trying to find young boys who have gone missing. 

As Hannah and Layke try to keep Gabe safe, it seems like someone is ahead of them at every turn.  Daring car chases over ice-packed roads, shootouts with unknown assailants and several attempts on their lives keeps the tension and action going throughout this book.
Hannah and Layke both feel an attraction between them, but both of them have secrets that keep them from admitting it.  Hannah is a Christian, relying upon God throughout their ordeal.  But, her faith has been recently shaken because of a medical diagnosis.

Meanwhile, Layke's past keeps him from believing that God is real.  If that were true, why didn't God protect him in his younger days or keep boys like Gabe and his recently discovered nephew, Noel, safe? Slowly, the pair draw closer to discovering the whereabouts of Noel and the other abducted boys.  But, will they be able to find them in time or will the Mafia get there first?  And, will Layke come to find God in his life or will he continue to fight against God's voice?

This was an entertaining book, full of action, emotion, and hope.  I enjoyed reading it and it affirmed my faith in a God who will protect the innocent in the worst of times.  I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romantic suspense with a happily ever after  ending and a faith-based story.
