A Wife and a Witness penned by Joy Bowser is an insightful and thought provoking look at 'loving your spouse to the Lord.'  Joy shares her personal experiences with such honesty and strength. A Wife and a Witness reminds us of the sound and solid truths God shares with us through His Word, and it serves as a reminder that even though we are married and thus a team, we are still individuals...learning, discovering, growing and changing at our own pace and how we need to be respectful and understanding of that...while still showing support and love. The application questions that Joy included throughout were helpful in gaining a deeper appreciation of the  content of the book and God's intentions for us, but also to help us delve deeper into our understanding and treatment of our  husbands. God wants us to love our husbands and to be loved by them right where each of us are in our daily lives...but moving forward in courage and strength that we are fulfilling God's purpose for our lives.

A Wife and a Witness, Loving Your Spouse to the Lord was an excellent and accurate title for Joy Bowser's book, because that is exactly what the book was about. 

The graphics on the cover showed warmth and intimacy, drawing you in.

Joy's book focused on God's Word and instruction for our lives, it showed hard truths that were not always easy to read or acknowledge but exactly what we as wives need to be reminded of. As  a wife myself, I know it can be easy to get distracted with life, with our own personal 'stuff' that we lose sight of what God expects from us...to love our husband, to accept them, to be their helpmate. My husband works in a different province and the few days he is home is so busy with our kids and .... life.. that I lose track of how to be the wife and partner and spiritual support that God intended for me to be. I will certainly be re-reading A Wife and a Witness to gain further insight and instruction.
