I loved loved LOVED the first two books, and wanted to continue the suspense series I began back in high school. A Dream Within a Dream did not disappoint me at all! Following the third adventure with Trudi and her ex Samuel, the mystery circles around an art heist, terrorists, and lots of epic hand to hand fight scenes (go Trudi!!). Things I loved.... The characters. Dream's POV was at times confusing, but that was the point. I was constantly guessing about his role play in this story and why he'd come to Trudi for help. Even in the last page we don't understand him, and I liked that aspect. I also fell in love with Trudi and Samuel and even found myself rooting for Samuel (the pig). I loved how Mike Nappa was able to weave some very strong light themes without coming across as preachy in the least. The ending (no spoilers) was not expected at all, and I gasped and laid down the book because I needed a moment. Any other author might not have had the ability to turn our hearts over like that, but Mr. Nappa shows us very flawed characters in a broken world and gives us hope. The plot. On the edge of your seat suspense. I flipped through pages wayyy too fast and found myself having to go back to figure out what I missed. The ending. There is a book four right? RIGHT???!!! What I didn't like.... Honestly there was nothing I found wrong with the book. I was a little disappointed in the cover because it didn't match the first two in the series, but other than that I was very excited to get my hands on a copy! Overall I highly recommend this book for suspense fans! Thank you to the publishing company and reviews and interviews for providing me with a copy.
