Today please welcome author Victor Chukwu to Interviews & Reviews. Victor is the founder and Senior Pastor of Peace of God Ministry, centered on building youths and young adults for Christ. He started his walk with God at the age of seven and by the grace of God, he has been following God closely, amidst life's challenges, up to this day. He believes the best life you could live is at the center of God’s will and purpose. His passion is to see people saved by God’s grace and empowered for God’s use. He is also a gospel musician, physician, and bio-statistician. He is married to Esther, and blessed with three children, Shalom, Shiloh & Salma. Today, he is going to talk to us about his book Making Life-Changing Decisions.

How long have you been writing?

I have been writing for about 15 years. While my first book was only published three years ago, my journey as a writer has been filled with various writing endeavors. During those years, I immersed myself in creating engaging articles and notes for blogs, contributed content to various social media platforms, and worked on multiple manuscripts. These experiences contributed to my growth (and I am still growing) and made me the writer I am today. 

How many books have you written?

I have written two books: "The Spirit That Conquers" and "Making Life-Changing Decisions." The first book was published three years ago, but it was written 15 years prior. At that time, I didn't publish it. However, three years ago, I felt a strong conviction that God was leading me to revisit the manuscript and publish it. So, I decided to dust off the old manuscript and took the necessary steps to begin my publishing journey.

Which do you enjoy more, the research part for a book, or the writing?

I find immense pleasure in the process of writing. It's a beautiful moment when inspiration flows effortlessly, allowing me to put my thoughts and the inner stirrings of my heart into words. I consider it a true privilege to have the opportunity to express my thoughts and ideas through writing. I often marvel at how the Bible came into existence through the contributions of 40 different individuals, each inspired by God. This realization deepens my appreciation for the profound impact that written words can have. It's a testament to the power of divine inspiration and the ability of words to convey timeless truths, offering guidance and understanding to those who seek it.

Sharing my perspectives and revelations with others brings me great joy. It's a way to connect with people on a deeper level, offering them a glimpse into my thoughts and experiences. I believe that through sharing our unique insights, we can inspire others, provoke thoughtful conversations, and foster growth and enlightenment.

What is the central theme of your book?

The central focus of my book revolves around the profound topic of decision-making. It serves as a guide, leading readers on a transformative journey from understanding how to discern God's desired destination or purpose for their lives, to providing practical steps on how to navigate the path towards that destination.

To ensure clarity and relatability, I have purposefully woven together personal experiences, biblical teachings, and historical examples throughout the book. By drawing from these diverse sources, I aim to illuminate the key points and insights, making them readily understandable and applicable to the reader's own life circumstances.

What inspired you to write this book?

In my role as a Youth and Young Adult Pastor, I have had the privilege of counseling and mentoring numerous young individuals, as well as providing guidance to parents. Throughout these experiences, one aspect that has stood out to me is the critical importance of decision-making in life. I have witnessed firsthand the significant impact that decisions can have on our lives and the often-challenging consequences that arise when the right choices are not made.

Motivated by a deep sense of responsibility and care for the young people I work with, my goal has been to assist and support them in the process of making life-changing decisions. I believe that equipping them with the necessary tools and guidance can empower them to navigate their paths with wisdom and discernment, ultimately helping them avoid the potential negative consequences that may arise from uninformed or impulsive choices.

Do you have any other books in the works?

Yes, I am in the final stages of completing a devotional book that spans 365 days, entitled "Inspiring Words to Navigate Your Day." I am also working on manuscript drafts for 2/3 books: “Maximizing Your Spiritual Sense Organs”, “The Fellowship of the Holy Spirit”, and “The Journey of Faith”. 

What do you do when you aren’t writing?

Professionally I work as a Biostatistician in a Pharmaceutical Company. This role involves working extensively with numbers and utilizing specialized software to analyze data for clinical trials. Outside of my professional pursuits, I have a passion for music and songwriting. I find great joy in creating melodies, crafting lyrics, and bringing musical ideas to life.  Above all, my family holds a special place in my heart. I cherish the time spent with my wife and children, as they bring immense love, laughter, and fulfillment into my life.

What is your favorite Scripture verse, and why?

One verse that holds deep significance to me is Philippians 4:7, which states, "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." This verse encapsulates a profound truth that has resonated with me throughout my personal journey. In a season of immense sorrow and heartbreak, my family experienced the tragic loss of our first child during stillbirth. Amidst the pain and grief, God made a promise to us, assuring us of His divine peace. It was during this time that we found solace and hope in the comforting words of Philippians 4:7.

In remembrance of the peace that God faithfully delivered to us during our darkest moments, we have chosen to incorporate the theme of peace into every aspect of our family's life. From naming our children to the symbols and values we embrace, peace has become a powerful emblem of God's faithfulness and healing in our lives. Through it all, we have witnessed the remarkable fulfillment of God's promise.
