Christian University, TX. Valerie, welcome to Interviews & Reviews! Valerie, what inspired you to write this book? The work of Bible art journalists. These are women who use their innate creativity as a tool to study their Bibles, and they have inspired me with their growing enthusiasm for the Word of God. Some have even taken on the ministry of becoming teachers. I know from experience it is a challenge to create Bible studies. It is equally a challenge to create art lessons. These women are doing both at the same time, and I wanted to help them out by providing Bible studies that could serve as templates for their own creativity.
that you want your readers to grasp?
Today’s Christian women should know that strong faith is attainable. It’s not an esoteric experience. It’s not a holy feeling in your heart. It’s a matter of making daily choices based on your confidence that God’s word is truth. Amen! Which do you enjoy more, the research part of a book, or the writing? These two are neck and neck for me. Studying the Bible is exciting, but part of the excitement is knowing I’ll soon have an opportunity to pass on the wonderful and amazing things I’ve learned to others. When is your next book due out and can you tell us about it? My next interactive Bible study is due out in the fall of 2017. Since Bible Art journalists are currently 99% women, I’m taking the opportunity to speak directly to my sisters in a study called “Designing Your Dream Home.” It is about our God’s special gift to us, the womanly influence to make our homes into our heart’s desire. Sounds exciting!
