Southern sayings, and home-grown recipes. She currently lives in Mississippi with her husband and two boys, (accompanied by their two spoiled dogs and mischievous cat) where she writes stories of faith, redemption, and stories steeped in the South. Stephenia, welcome to Interviews & Reviews! For those who aren't familiar with your work, can you tell us a little about yourself? Even though I was a military kid and moved around a lot, I call the South home. I really love the old Southern plantations and history, so both of those elements took center stage in my books. I now have six novels published, all of which take place in the South during the 1800s.
understanding who we really are. The world tells us so many things about what we are supposed to be, do, and look like. In His Eyes explores the differences between who we say we are, who others say we are, and who God says we are.
That sounds very interesting. I really love the premise of this book. Do you have a particular time of day that you like to write? I am a morning writer. I get up, get my coffee, and start typing away. The later it gets in the day the less my brain seems to want to cooperate in weaving words. Usually the only writing I do in the afternoons is editing what I wrote that morning. I hardly ever try to write at night because the words don’t flow very well and I pretty much just end up cutting whatever I do manage to write. Do you have a favourite Scripture verse? John 15:5 where Jesus tells us he is the true vine. This verse reminds me to always stay connected to him, because by being connected to the vine is the only way we will ever bear fruit. I think this also applies to writing. If I want my books to “bear fruit” then they need to be written in the ways that He leads me. That is so incredibly true! What a wonderful verse to keep front and center while you are writing. Thank you for stopping by today Stephenia. If you would like to win a copy of Stephenia's book, she is giving away a free ebook.
