![]() Today, I am pleased to welcome author Chalon Linton to Interviews & Reviews! Chalon was first introduced to Jane Austen by a dear friend and now she can’t get enough of handsome men in tailcoats. Her intrigue in the genre stems from a nostalgic longing for manners, wit, and true love. Fortunately, Chalon found her dashing gentleman, married him, and now lives happily ever after in Southern California. Today, she is going to talk to us about her latest Regency Romance, Adoring Abigail and she is giving a paperback copy to one lucky resident of the United States! Chalon, welcome to Interviews & Reviews! ![]() So, how long have you been writing? I set out to write my first book twelve years ago. We had made a major move as a family and my children were at a stage when I could steal a few hours in the evening to write. I knew very little about the industry and I feel very fortunate that I’ve been blessed with great people to help me in this journey. My first book was published in February 2017. How many books have you written? Adoring Abigail is my fourth published novel. I also have stories in two Christmas anthologies; Christmas Grace and Christmas Courting. Is there a message in your book that you want your readers to grasp? All of my books are clean and some contain more specific Christian content. I have an underlying theme in every book I write, with the hope that the reader will pause and reflect on more than just the romance. Adoring Abigail specifically touches on overcoming the judgements of others and making sure we aren’t making those judgements ourselves. Abigail has a speech impediment and has been judged all of her life, yet she maintains faith that there is goodness in the world. Robert Wilkins is immediately intrigued by her bright personality and kindness, which ultimately draws them together. What do you do when you aren’t writing? I love being a wife and mother. When my children are on school breaks I get zero writing done because I want to spend time with my family. We enjoy the outdoors, hiking, camping, snow skiing, and traveling. And while some in my family have more talent than others, we love to sing and dance around the house. What is your favourite Scripture verse, and why? Matthew 22:37-39 reads: “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” I love this scripture because it simplifies everything. Love God and love your fellow man. To me that sums up being a disciple of Jesus Christ. When is your next book due out, and can you tell us about it? I am excited about my upcoming release Flying In Love, available June 2020. My previous books have all been in the Historical Romance genre. Flying In Love is a Contemporary Christian Romance. The summary is: After a messy breakup, Paige Hall vows she’ll never fall hard again—a pledge that is upended in a grocery store parking lot when she is nearly run over by a handsome and very apologetic air force pilot. Soon Paige is swept up in a whirlwind romance—but can she and Jake put their trust in God to help their love survive the heartbreak of loss? Sounds interesting! Thank you for stopping by today.
