 Reviewer: Lori Parrish I was sad to see this book end. It definitely went out with a bang! Oh, my, the author really outdid herself on this one. Lots happening in this story that I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough! I was angry with the community for what was going on. It wasn’t fair or right! My heart went out to Miri. I rooted for her and for Moses, who was also caught in the middle. This book will make you laugh, cry, and want to scream at them along the way. I kept shaking my head at some people, too. Ugh. Forgiveness is the main theme. Forgiveness, forgiveness, forgiveness is what the Bishop said. Harder to do that sometimes, isn’t it? By the time this story ended, I was crying tears of happiness, and that’s all I’ll say. This story will leave you feeling full and satisfied! 5 stars for a job well done! “Sometimes to stay on the narrow path, we have to walk single file.” An Amish young lady who inherits a farm—now there is a unique story for you! Just when I think I have read all that Amish fiction can offer, there comes along a book like this, a whole trilogy actually, that offers something fresh and unexpected. Blending familiar characters with new, the progression is well thought out and easily changes from one plot line to the other. I had a hard time putting it down and finished in just a few days. It might be predictable where Miri and Moses end up, but the journey is exciting and worth taking. God provides a way for them where there seems to be no possible way, and that is equally true for Tabitha. I have enjoyed her growth through the series, and now she finally receives the fulfillment of her hopes and dreams, following a few bumps along the way. If you follow the author on social media, there are also a few fun references to her knitted frogs that are absolutely delightful. I will miss these characters. They have become real to me, and I am sorry to see the end. If you enjoy Amish fiction with strong Christian messages of relying on God and submitting to his will, even when it is hard, I highly recommend a visit to Shepherd’s Hill. Patricia Johns has secured her place as a top author in this genre, and here is where her talent truly shines.
