Reviewer: Laura J. Davis The Red Cottage by Hannah Linder is an intriguing historical fiction novel full of mystery, danger and romance. Meg Foxcroft loses her memory when she is attacked while her uncle’s apothecary shop goes up in flames. Her station in life is far below the man who rescues her, but Lord Cunningham is instantly enchanted with her and makes sure she has the care she needs. Yet, those who attacked her are still trying to silence her permanently, and she does not know why. Tom McGwen has loved Meg all his life and begins a search for her and her killer. When he finds her, she does not remember him or their life together. Determined to help her find her memories, he goes out of his way to win her back. Meanwhile, Lord Cunningham is determined to make her his wife. The tension between the two men is palpable. This story had everything. It had me guessing until the very end if Lord Cunningham was the bad guy. It had me wondering, like Tom, about who was after Meg, and it had me waiting to see who Meg would ultimately choose. I loved this book! If you like mystery, romance and a little danger, you will enjoy The Red Cottage. I received a complimentary copy courtesy of Barbour Publishing via NetGalley for my honest opinion. Leave a Reply. |
