Author: Kelsey Bryant Genre: Contemporary Fiction Pages: 111 Release Date: June 26, 2023 Publisher: Self-Published Resembling your favorite literary heroine isn’t all it’s cracked up to be...or is it? Chandler Ivey has always been more at home in the world of Little House on the Prairie than in her own. When she’s overwhelmed with changes after moving to the small town of Prairie, South Dakota, retreating into her comfort zone has never been more appealing. But when a nosy neighbor and a brand-new friend pull her into helping with Prairie’s Fourth of July celebration, Chandler finds there is more to God’s plan for her and the town than she ever imagined. Reviewer: Marta Aldrighetti The cover of the book doesn’t catch my eye, I think it must be improved. The story and the characters are well built, I enjoyed reading it. Chandler lives with her husband Mark and her little daughter Liberty. “The move from Missouri to South Dakota, away from all familiarity, had been a bit of a struggle for Chandler.” In fact, all is new: people, land, traditions, and she is afraid. Chandler is shy, in this new town, she hasn’t friends. One morning, her woman neighbor welcomes her into the town and invites her to attend a meeting about how to organize for Independence Day. “She should have known not to get involved. People never changed. They disagreed, they argued, and they forgot. She was better off alone at home with her little family, making it the home she Always dreamed of - peaceful, insulated, safe.” I can relate to Chandler. People sometimes scare me, so I like the topic of the novella. I think, even in the most loving family, sometimes someone disagrees or has a bad day because we all are human and a bad day happens. We are all different from each other, with different thoughts, life past, relationships, friends, relatives, so be patient. I received a complimentary copy from the author through Interviews & Reviews for my honest opinion. Leave a Reply. |
