![]() Author: Rebekah Millet Genre: Contemporary Romance Series: Beignets for Two #2 Pages: 368 Release Date: March 18, 2025 Publisher: Bethany House Publishers I turned to him, and he winked at me. Winked! We needed clear lines in place between us. We would not be flirty friends. We'd be friends, period. The sooner I made that distinction, the better. Forty-year-old Kate Landry's carefully planned life has become as messy as the powdered sugar on her famous beignets. Juggling the responsibilities of running her café, raising her teenage niece, and the emotional baggage from her breakup, Kate finds her world once again turned upside down when her first-ever crush, Micah Guidry, returns to town as the hunky local librarian. As Kate struggles to implement her plans to expand her café amid the New Orleans Mardi Gras madness and the meddling of her conniving ex-fiancé, Micah becomes the unwitting hero of her misadventures, stirring up feelings she thought she'd long buried. How can falling in love in the Big Easy be this hard? ![]() Reviewer: Billi Varela I loved this book. I wanted to know more about it, and it was hard to put it down. I liked that it was set in New Orleans, which was interesting for me. We see characters from the first book as well. This book was hilarious. There were some moments I just wanted to hide from the sheer, “oh my gosh, no” aspect, but it was all good. I recommend it. Micah. I am a sucker for first love stories. I liked how he was there for her and willing to help, even when she was reluctant. Plans. I am a person who loves my plans and tends to follow them. However, God’s plans are better than ours, for He knows our tomorrows. It was humbling to see that in the pages of this story. I really needed to see that. This is a clean read free from sex and language. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Bethany House Publishers through Interviews & Reviews. I was not required to give a favorable review. All opinions are my own. ![]() Reviewer: Linda Klager I give “Kate Landry Has A Plan” five stars. I thought reading a book by a new author would be great. I was not disappointed. Kate Landry was jilted right before her wedding. She did not want another relationship! Kate had a difficult mother, and her father went along with his wife. Such a shame that her mother did not support her more. Kate and Claire were very close sisters. When her sister and her sister’s husband died unexpectedly, Kate mourned very much. She needed to take care of her sister’s 2-year-old daughter. She loved this little girl dearly. Even though Kate suffered from so much grief, this book also had a lot of humor. It was very interesting to read a book about life in Louisiana around Mardi Gras. I was hungry for beignets, too! Kate had a great friendship with Julia, her best friend. I would like to read book one in this series because that was Julia’s life story. Kate wanted to keep Claire’s legacy alive. She thought it would be great to open another cafe because that was Claire’s dream. Kate needed to learn to relax and take life more slowly. Her childhood friend and crush, Micah Guidry, was working at the local library where her niece liked to hang out. There were some quirky characters in this book and a naughty parrot that made for an interesting and hilarious story. I was given a copy of this book for my honest review from Baker House Publishers through Interviews & Reviews, for my honest opinion. Leave a Reply. |
