![]() Author: Amanda Cabot Genre: Historical Romance Series: Sisters of the Heart #1 Pages: 276 Release Date: March 20, 2025 Publisher: ByDand Publishing A baby to protect. A town to save. Is a marriage of convenience the only answer? Sophia Carr knows her recurring dreams of an identical twin sister are just that - dreams. She also knows that eventually she will inherit the hotel her grandfather built. When a fire at the hotel kills her mother, Sophia returns to Carr Valley to rebuild and ensure that a planned railroad line chooses a route that will keep the town alive. But her grandfather’s will states that she must be married to inherit, and the only man she can imagine marrying seems to have forgotten her. Up-and-coming architect Gideon Spencer couldn’t say no when his dying friend begged him to marry his widow and raise their baby as his own rather than let a cruel grandfather gain custody. But when the young mother dies, leaving Gideon a single parent, the grandfather poses a new threat unless Gideon manages to marry again. Sadly, the only woman he’s interested in is the one he’s ignored for six months: Sophia. Knowing he needs to protect the baby, Gideon heads to Carr Valley. When he discovers that Sophia needs a husband as much as he needs a wife, he proposes a six-month marriage of convenience. Sophia agrees but adds a stipulation of her own, one that will test his resolve, even as their wedding day reveals that Sophia’s dreams of a twin sister might be more than dreams. As Sophia and Gideon join forces, the stakes couldn’t be higher: a baby’s life, a town’s future, and love. ![]() Reviewer: Carolyn Bryant As anticipated, Echoes of Sunrise is yet another outstanding work from fantastic storyteller Amanda Cabot and a promising start to her Sisters of the Heart series. Set in the mid 1800s in the picturesque Texas Hill Country, this gripping marriage of convenience story focuses on securing a child’s safety, ensuring the survival of a town, and unraveling long-buried family secrets. I was hooked from the moment I read the opening line, “The threat is real.” The intricately woven plot kept me fully immersed until the very last line. The beautifully created main characters Sophia and Gideon and their tender love story lingered in my mind long after I finished the last page. The supporting characters are also well-developed, and the special friendship shared by the “sisters of the heart”—Sophia, Olivia, and Victoria—is touching and impactful. I greatly appreciate the strong faith thread with reminders that God works everything for our good. I loved everything about Sophia’s story and can’t wait to read the next heart sister’s story! I believe all historical romance fans are sure to love this book as much as I did. Set in 1883, Sophia Carr is a young woman who is struck by tragedy twice, the death of her mother and the absence of the man she loves. Her return to her family’s hotel, Grand Carr at Carr Valley, is met with more grave news, as she must marry before she can inherit the hotel. Gideon Spencer is a young architect who must save his adopted son, Amos, from a grandfather bent on finding him. His only chance to protect Amos is to flee his hometown and marry the woman he jilted. Gideon tracks Sophia, the woman he jilted, to ask for a favour, a marriage of convenience. What is meant to be a short period of marriage develops into something beautiful as the true Architect of life skilfully executes His blueprints for Gideon and Sophia. The themes of this novel were very well incorporated. The discovery and search for an unknown sibling, betrayal, pain and trust in God were all well-articulated in this novel. My first time reading one of Amanda Cabot’s novels has left me with a desire to read more of her works. I will recommend this novel to anyone who needs to be reminded of how God can bring beauty out of brokenness. I took my time because I wanted to savor it. I liked how Sophia found out about her sister, because that’s exactly how I found out about my siblings. I still haven’t met them, but maybe in God’s timing I will. I feel like that’s how I can relate to Sophia. I like how this author added in all kinds of surprises along the way. She was pretty clever in that way. One of the many reasons that Amanda Cabot is one of my favorite authors is she adds in the most important ingredient of her stories. Faith. Faith is strong in this story. Especially for Sophia. Love is important, too. I always enjoy this author’s stories. She never disappoints and always leaves my heart feeling full and satisfied. Five stars for a well-written story with rounded out characters. I highly recommend it! I received a complimentary copy from the author via Interviews & Reviews for my honest opinion.
