​Can I Take It to Heaven? by Sandee G. MacGregor is a wonderful addition to a child’s library. The beautiful, softly colored watercolor illustrations showing Lucy and her dog Maple as they visit Grandma and play with her cousins draw us into the story. Lucy loves her Bible and takes it with her everywhere she goes. She wonders if she could also take her Bible to heaven.

Dialogue between Lucy and her Grandma is presented in rhyming style at the top of each illustrated page. On the bottom of every few pages is the Bible verse where the truths came from. Included are truths about God’s love for us, that Jesus is preparing a place for believers, what heaven will be like and also Lucy’s salvation-type prayer.

Written for ages 3-9, this book is easily adaptable for children of different ages by focusing on just the rhyming sections or by digging deeper into the Bible verses. I highly recommend this book for those who wish to gently lead their children further into the knowledge of the love and provision of God.
