Author: Katie M. Reid Genre: Contemporary Romance Series: Very Bavarian #2 Pages: 274 Release Date: July 5, 2025 Publisher: Mountain Brook Ink Holly Noel Brigham is thrilled about her boyfriend’s upcoming visit to Bavarian Falls. What could go wrong? Navigating a long-distance relationship is no picnic. Work demands, a wildfire, and insecurities threaten Holly’s and Nik’s summer plans and future goals. What was supposed to be a season of carefree dates and tender kisses is complicated by unexpected loss, a surprise visitor, and the pressure of the Christmas in July Festival. In an effort to strengthen their relationship, Holly and Nik decide to ask each other twenty questions... What do you dream about? What makes you cry? What are you second-guessing? What makes you angry? Why do you love me? The questions eerily parallel reality, causing a roller coaster of emotions and a high-elevation argument. Is Holly’s and Nik’s relationship strong enough to endure some twists and turns or is this the end of the road? Reviewer: Diana Varela Before continuing the review, I recommend reading the first book, A Very Bavarian Christmas, because this book and review will spoil the first part. My review starts now. This is the second book on Holly’s journey. Holly and Nick are both likable characters. They are selfless and giving. However, they both have their own baggage. Holly struggles because of the mistakes she’s made in the past and because of traumas that she has endured. She struggles seeing the cup half full, instead seeing it half empty. She very much sees and thinks the worst in different scenarios. It does not help that she and her boyfriend are in a long distance relationship with miscommunication arising between them. I like the confrontation/climax of the book, and I like how Katie M Reid resolved it. It did not get messy, as many romance books tend to be. There is a positive message in that God loves us more than we can imagine. Heavenly Love will always be greater than any earthly love. However, here on earth, earthly love is worth fighting for.
