Release Date: April 7, 2026

She's running from London's marriage mart. He's running out of time to save his estate. Neither intends to fall in love--but their hearts have other plans.

American heiress Calliope Hart is thrust into London's high society against her will, all because her mother is determined to marry her off to an aristocrat. Despite being named "the debutante of the season" back in New York, Calliope wants nothing more than to avoid becoming another pawn in the social game.

Edward Chase, the Earl of Hayward, is on the brink of financial ruin. To save his estate, he must marry, and Calliope Hart is his last hope. When he boldly declares his intentions, she swiftly rejects him, making it clear she has no interest in marrying for convenience. Undeterred, Edward offers a deal: He will escort Calliope to all the best sights of London that she's been dying to see if she agrees to visit his estate and consider what they could accomplish together.

What begins as a business arrangement soon sparks something much more complicated--an undeniable chemistry neither can ignore. But as their hearts begin to soften, both must confront their fears: Can Calliope trust Edward with her heart, and can Edward truly win her love when she's convinced he only wants her fortune?

All the romance of the regency era set in the early 1900s makes this book sing.

I loved how the main characters brought out the best in one another, both during after a bit of playful conflict.

Edward needs to marry an heiress, and who better than the beautiful Calliope Hart, the richest American debutante to come across the pond. His problem is that she doesn’t appreciate his straightforward approach to marriage. Lay it all on the line and get on with it.

Calliope’s mother is adamant that she will marry a titled gentleman to raise her social status. It doesn’t matter if the family is one of the richest in America, her mother is determined. Calliope has already been insulted by one Lord, is now a bit in her cups, and looking for a fight when Edward asks her to dance. She finds him attractive but his smug proposal is too much.

What follows is a delightful push/pull between the two that had me smiling my way through the book. Each encounter has them engaged in enjoyable banter while their obvious chemistry explodes. All the wonderful feels in a clean book that would appeal to any romance reader. Loved it.

Oh my goodness! This has been one of my favorite reads this year, and I can sense this will be one of the top reads this year. Chelsea Bobulski’s writing style draws you in. There is just enough detail that feels like you can see the picture without getting bored and flipping pages. I loved that. I wanted the story, and that is exactly what I got.

Edward needs an heiress to save his land. And Calliope’s mother wants her to marry a title. Edward very bluntly proposes to her, and she rejects him. As she should. But Edward comes around and makes her a proposition, one she doesn’t want to refuse. And little by little, Edward begins to fall for her.

I loved seeing Edward fall so hard and fast for her. It was not just her beauty, it was Calliope as a person. I had all the feels for this book. There were moments I could not stop laughing from the blunt dialogue, and other moments where Chelsea Bobulski had me crying from the vice grip of the characters’ predicament. It was all too much, yet it was so perfect. I hope to see that the author will continue in this world with the side characters and their stories.

I am absolutely thrilled with Haven, a new imprint of Baker Publishing. This is my second book from Haven and both have been gold. This is also my introduction to Chelsea Bobulski and her writing; she has gained another fan with her perfectly timed, flawless writing style and her ability to bring her characters to life.

I loved being transported to 1908 New York, London, and Hampshire. The Gilded Age felt like anything was possible for the wealthy upper crust of American society, though the English aristocrats had the opposite problem of desperately trying to preserve their way of life.

I loved the fond childhood memories Calliope held and the lovely friendships she had with the other American debutantes looking for titled English husbands. Calliope had spunk, mischief, and stubbornness that paired amazingly well with her physical beauty, loyalty, and compassion.

Edward was a dashing hero who hid his passionate and empathetic spirit under a stiff upper lip and a heart bound to duty. They started out as adversaries but developed a sweet and fun friendship through shared interests and then became more even as forces, within and out, tried to tear them apart.

I cannot wait to read the next book in the series about Rose and her possible (mis)match of an aristocrat.
