Did you know that reading rewires your brain in a positive way? According to Carnegie Mellon University, "Scientists have uncovered the first evidence that intensive instruction to improve reading skills in young children causes the brain to physically rewire itself, creating new white matter that improves communication within the brain." According to researchers in Spain, "Fiction books offer a particularly vivid replica of real life and allows readers to fully submerge themselves in another person's thoughts and feelings. Researchers also found that reading makes you smarter and it even makes you empathetic. Want to keep Alzheimer's at bay? Keep reading! According to the Fisher Centre for Alzheimer's, "Reading books and magazines, writing and participating in other mentally stimulating activities, no matter your age, can help to keep memory and thinking skills intact."
With all these benefits to reading, Interviews & Reviews invites you to participate in our 2017 Reading Challenge.
